Very basic app with surprisingly little content. Good to have the local weather videos. As a publisher they should (but don't) set the do not track tag when referring the user to Twitter et al videos, because even if you have an account it's difficult to enforce your privacy settings through the browser embedded in this app. Update: In the years since I wrote that there was little content it has dwindled further, to the point there are only a few stories that haven't been there for a week.

Installed as there is no longer a local news feed on TV at 4am when I get up for work (who needs hours of relaxing music when getting up for work at that time in the morning?! I want to know what's happened locally overnight). Anyway, I digress. Typed in my local area to be told it couldn't be found. I then tried the area which borders mine - same result. Closest I could get was the Borders - a 4-hour drive from my area so not exactly local in my eyes! Uninstalled. Useless.

Very slow to update then if top story is a video immediately plays it usually accompanied by loud music. Very annoying. It's up to user when video plays not some app developer. A lot of the stories are old.

Nice app but opening any news article also opens a streaming media player in the background, even when just reading text!? This overrides my Amazon Music player so that when I get in the car the Bluetooth audio then subsequently plays audio for an ITV News article you've read instead of your music. VERY annoying as App has no Settings tab to turn this off. :-(

Just the basics. Stopped using BBC news after they updated the app to the point I couldn't find the content I wanted. Itv keeps it simple, it's the headlines and the news in your local area. Easy to use, doesn't mess about.

This is a good news app. I've only given 1 star until you sort out the sensitivity issue. You only have to scroll down at an incredibly small angle and it will swipe to the right. It gets really annoying after a while. Fix it so that you have to swipe from the very edge of the display only. 5 stars if you do address this issue.

Very poor content curation. Home screen can't be edited by users and repeats multiple "news" items three or four times under different rubrics, despite there only being about 30 stories to read in total. Some rubrics are static for several weeks, simply filling space with old stories. Not really a source of news, more an afterthought, as if ITV felt it needed a news presence on the web but couldn't really be bothered to do it properly.

Downloaded this after disaster of update to BBC app. Finding it a great replacement as it's easy to see top stories in a compact format, and have local news on a separate tab. Depth of content and updating could be better - although seems to have improved. Has what old BBC app had.
