Good app. NECN has best, most accurate weather forcast in New England. Took off one star though because I have "breaking news" alerts turned on and EVERY time I look my phone there's a new alert. Good grief, that's way too often. Please put in the ability to prioritize news alerts or put in a update timer like in the weather settings.

9/2018: Installed new app. Can't zoom in the maps. There's a tiny grid overlaying US map in top right of one, but can't figure out how to move to a different area of the country. Under "maps and radar" there are 10+ choices but no radar! And the only way to choose between those many options is to swipe thru them to get the one I want; whatever happened to menus so I can go directly to the one I want? Uninstalling again. 9/2017: Used the old NECN weather app till the data stopped. The new one doesn't have forecasts in words, just pretty pictures that take a lot more space and convey less info. Uninstalled app and will use bookmark to NWS webpage instead. Too bad. The old one was so good, had more info in less space, making it easier to use. Bring back the 10 day forecast on one screen without scrolling.

I used to enjoy the app for it's hourly forcast feature. A quick glance at the hourly weather icons would allow me to easily plan my day. Now, in the latest update, the icon sizes are so small, it's no longer (senior) vision-friendly. Other new, undesirable qualities also experienced. UPDATE: I was able to copy a previous version from another device and install on my phone. All is now well with the world, and I am once again a happy camper. Will avoid updates without reviewing negative comments.

I don't understand what the heck is wrong with this app. I have it because it really does seem to be the best local/regional WEATHER app, and I specifically am not interested in the news side of it (although I'm a loyal NECN TV watcher, since its inception). BUT NOTIFICATIONS!!!!! I have severe weather notifications tiurned on, it's the point of the app for me. But I have ALL News notifications OFF, including specifically SPORTS... as someone who almost always is watching TV (including sports) time shifted I DO NOT WANT THESE. So why EVERY DAMNED WEEK does my phone beep me the latest Patriots game result while I'M general either still in the middle of watching it or not even home to START yet. Again, my SPORTS NOTIFICATIONS SETTING IS TURNED *OFF*!!! Few things in the world irritate me more than spoilers, and if it's sports, I won't even bother watching the rest of the game if I know how it ends. RESPECT MY SETTINGS!!!!

What happened to the quantity of precipitation, in inches. This was very helpful. Please add it back.

I had to uninstall this app, I went through all the motions to disable every single notification except the weather notification bar and for some reason I still see Robert Kraft, sports nonsense, and political garbage. Fix your notifications and make that weather bar useful again. I've been a loyal user for years, but I refuse to use an app that's going to ping me all day long with things I've already turned off.

Reduced to 2 stars. Only to hopefully get noticed by a dev. The "Your Location" function under weather no longer stays with your current location, even with permission turned on in settings. This is a main use of the app, at least for me, and heavily detracts from its usefulness.

Before the big update that changed the operation of this app, I really liked and relied on this app. It was very user friendly and accurate. Now, not so much. Vague weather forcasts. Down to 2 stars now. Really disappointed that the weather reports are only about MA now. The "NE" in NECN stands for New England and yet if you dont live in MA youd be lucky to get a brief glimpse of what an oncoming storm may produce for your area
