This is awful. Here's why: Excellent: Mapping Feature, easy to use and helpful. Appalling: Search Feature, despite using common names and scientific, aswell as spell checking and referencing, half of almost everything never turns up, It only identifies a 50% of anything. Stupidly bad: Tree Identification feature, it never works and the reference pictures are never what I'm looking for. Dad had the same problem. Good: Asthetics, The app looks good.

Excellent app for identifying British trees. If you find something that isn't in the app is probably a foreign plant. The map of local trees is good, they seem to have fixed the GPS inaccuracy. Still got room for improvement but an excellent app. My biggest problem is closing a lead shape, wish there were fewer options of more general leaf shapes before the more detailed questions.

Map kept crashing. I added a tree with photos but it came to nothing. The lack of trees on the map may be an indication that the app does not function as intended. It gave me incorrect information on trees to the point that I couldn't trust its accuracy. It needs developing, I hope it is maintained and improved because it could be an excellent tool.

Very helpful to identify trees. 2 points to improve: first, add the categorisation match to the tree information page eg. X is palmately lobed, spiny, grey bark etc. It helps to add a learning curve since terms like spiny vs serrated are often a toss-up; second, the hierarchy of leaf then flower then bark often leads to a bad match, a tabbed approach to collect information in the order the user sees it and then narrow down the tree might be better eg. A flower is more unambiguous than a leaf

Easy to use and accurate if you get the tree description right. Good info about the trees including photos, facts. 4/5 since for me on Android 13, feature to take picture when logging a tree doesn't work - appears to take pic but then it never appears. Workaround is to take it directly using camera app, then tree app can find it in gallery of your photos.

Great concept - tree identification in your pocket - and that part works fine. The problem is, some other key parts don't. There is a feature where you can add your own photos and notes including the photo location. Unfortunately this feature causes the application to crash. Frequently. Therefore what you have is a handy identification guide but minus any ability to add custom photos, which is big pity.

The descriptions are detailed, without jargon, and photos are good. However, I wanted to use the app to map my local trees, which doesn't work. For starters, the location defaults to Grantham, Lincolnshire (perhaps the programmer's home?). If you then press the Find Location button it finds your location within about half a mile. Saving the tree location is similarly inaccurate. The iPhone version doesn't seem to have this problem!

Great app. Wish it had more species, or let me add my own. Also, I think it shouldnt discount certain questions based on previous answers. For example. It I choose a tree with a certain leaf type, I should not have options limited later when it comes to bark type. Rather. All options should be available, and more tree species listed if you give inconsistent answers. That way the user is more likely to find the right tree, and also, they get to use a bit of their own intuition.
