I like the Tacoma News Tribune, but this app is exceedingly annoying in that it sends notifications of stories that may be of interest, but if you click on that notification, it NEVER takes you to the story, just to the "front page". Then it's just a matter of effort (and luck) to find the story you were seeking. I finally turned off the notifications as they just piss me off. I want to support local journalism, but how long do you think I'll keep paying for this "paper" when I no longer see it?

Overall it's good, but there are a coupple major shortcomings. It's common for an article to have hyperlinks to another TNT article, but will send you to the web-browser instead of staying within the app. This can result in login issues. If it's a TNT article, keep it in the app! Likewise, I'll get push notifications from TNT that send me to the web-browser instead of the app. I don't have this problem with the NPR or AP apps. Fix these and it's easy 5/5. Support local news!

The new app sucks! The stories repeat themselves several times. The stories have no organized pattern on where they appear under the topics. And, in fact, appear under several topics as you scroll down the list. The old app was better. It is full of ads (as a subscriber I would expect different). Ads that get this reapet themselves down the same article, see above paragraph, it seems to be a thing. The old app was better. That one gave a list of articles you could scroll down.

Every single time I use the app, I have to sign in. Periodically, I have to sign in multiple times as I go from one article to the next! The app should remember me from one article to the next!

No longer truly a free app. I understand newspapers are struggling, but if you offer a free app I should be able to read the posted articles without being limited. No longer a helpful news source for your local community. Living in a city that's not the main city in the area the news was already hard to come by. Your reporting already wasn't really covering the most local news, it was more big picture coverage like the news channels, is why you lost subscribers to the paper in the first place.

Giving a second star because you do get a news feed. Glitchy... Keeps saying no internet connection even though there's a strong wifi signal and it updates ok. Asked for technical support and got a form email wanting to learn more about my newspaper subscription issues. Aargh! And categories/topics are worthless : national in local, local in national, days old items in latest news...

Lovely having the paper set up. I grew up with The News Tribune at the house, the same look on my phone brings joy. An updated version should have each article read aloud, even in the e-editions - could be a nice touch to utilize subscription.
