The Spectrum TV app is not bad, but it's really lacking in some basic DVR functionality. I would love to find a more affordable replacement to YouTubeTV. With this app, you unfortunately can not just pause the show you're watching. You have to go through several steps to record the show you're watching and then open it in DVR instead of just simply pressing pause. For me, this is a big annoyance. Until this feature is added, I think I'll primarily stick with other options.

It requires internet for it to work properly at home. When I say properly, I mean, all your channels are available. With the new router, the performance has gone down tremendously. Watching my cable channels at home is horrible now. After the router switch. How does an old routor work better than a new system that you say works better? Connectivity is poor and not consistent. Watching anything on your phone is the worst now. My cellular signal works better.

NEED HELP WITH SOUND? For those who can't get sound to work, first make sure the speaker on screen is unmuted. Still no sound, touch the 3 Dots on screen, select "Audio" option and switch Spanish to English, turn it On, then turn it off. Hope this helps. To Spectrum, I don't do any social network to talk to people which is ridiculously ignorant since an email isn't good at all to help out with the app. An email should be just as good to report anything to work as a team. Every update gets worse.

Spectrum sucks. Won't let you view all channels that you pay for if you are not at sitting at home and app crashes often. 2/9 - after uninstalling and reinstalling app to watch Lebron break Kareen's record. It's now crashing again so I have to uninstall/install to use app. 10/24 - they pushed an update to add an unit on Roku and took away the recently watched tiles. So stupid!

Update: Just to watch an old episode, I have one 2 minute and 48 second ad, then you let the theme song play and it goes into another 2 minute and 40 second ad, then right after that ad is another. It is not worth it. The rest of the episode had 6 more ads during the show. Not worth it, at all. You watch more ads than anything. I can understand a 60 second ad but 180 seconds is too much. It makes you just wanna un install and just go watch YouTube or Netflix.

Back to 5 stars since the Nov. 4 update restored the ability to remember channel selections when closing app. Overall, it's very useful and pretty reliable for watching or just listening to TV anywhere in the house or yard where you've got a decent wireless signal.

It has a lot of unnecessary gimmicks which add little or no benefit, but make the app more cumbersome to use. For many channels, it's very hard to read the name of the channel because it's written so small. The screen always comes up in portrait mode even if the phone is in landscape. You have to click a button to change it. After a show ends, it disappears from the guide immediately, so you can't see what the name of what you just watched was. Many little annoyances like that.

The app is really good when it works, but it will no longer work if it stops recognizing your wifi location. After spending over an hour and a half on the phone with tech support, they were still unable to get the app working again even though my other streaming apps were still working correctly. However, it would work if I disconnected from wifi and streamed using cellular data. Ultimately I decided to cancel the service and use a different provider.
