The selection isn't huge and the quality bump isn't really a huge sell as a mobile user. Hell I don't even care too much about FP exclusives, but personally I can put that aside since I'm supporting creators I like. Biggest issues: opening a video from a push notification usually breaks and gets stuck loading, leading me to just go to YouTube. No way to hide channels completely (I'll never watch a PSU video on my feed) and no watch later/Playlist feature makes coming back to videos annoying.

Floatplane works great and most features are intuitive and work okay. Background playback with the screen off just doesn't work. They say it's in beta and it might freeze after a while, but it just doesn't work at all for me. It's annoying because I watch VODs of WAN show (their podcast) and I watch it with the screen off and in places without Internet but you can play it with the screen off and you can't download WAN show so I have to listen in Spotify. Good app but needs improvement.

decent app, but is missing some functionality that makes me use youtube: 1. no ability to make playlists or add things to a queue 2. I can't download videos offline, I have to use the browser 3. no tv app As a positive, this app probably has the best chromecasting experience that I've had. It's snappy and easy to control.

I like the video player and navigation is relatively easy, however I have a tendency to navigate apps and screens in portrait mode, and switch to landscape when viewing the video. If I'm lying down, I'm unable to do this as the app ignores my phone's rotation setting and rotates to landscape anyways. -- this is resolved in the update I didn't install. I also find it a little difficult to click the button to exit fullscreen due to the rounded corners on my pixel 4 xl

pretty great app. there are some issues but this is basically a prealpha rn so ill just list the bugs. 1. when other app is PiP, app shuts down when clicking on the PiP to close the PiP app. 2. When trying to close the app by the home button while video is playing, it bugs out and is wierd 3. finally, the video I click from notification, if I go to another vid in same session, minimize the app and come back, the first video shows up, not the recent one I had (Please Luke, Emotes)

Been using for about 2 months now and can say without a doubt background play or the ability to download (phone locked,video still playing; not talking about pip) is absolutely needed. It hasn't been 2 weeks into the month yet and I'm at 8gb of data usage on floatplane alone. I'm gonna see about going down to 720 maybe 480 when I'm on my walks to see the difference over the next 2 weeks. Although I have unlimited data, we all know they start to slow it at around 20-25 gb.

This app works fine—the one issue I have though is a big one. Floatplane will sign you out nearly every time you exit the app, forcing you to sign in whenever you want to watch something. I usually don't mind this, but when I just want to watch a quick video from a notification, having to HK back and remember my pass every time generally dissuades me from using it. I really would like to give this app a better review considering this is my only gripe, but this really needs to be fixed.

Excellent app! Well on the way to something beautiful. There is an issue with contacting their customer support, however. I have had a billing issue for nearly a month and I have sent in a help ticket several times. No response has been submitted. None of my tickets have had any action taken to solve the issue. Be sure to keep your auto payment account information up to date. There is likely no one there to help if issues should arise. Otherwise a great experience. Great job Luke and team!!
