This app is pretty good for a 2011 release. However now it's a relic. 1. It lacks a playlist history 2. Lacks the ability to remember what was last played in the browse folder 3. Why does the iPhone and Android UI look different 4. Why does the iPhone have a monthly subscription and Android is a 1 time payment? 5. Have the ability to auto-set subtitles & audio for a series. If I don't see an improvement on these notes. Ill make an a worthy of a 2024 release and I'll open source it.

I wish more apps were this elegantly simple. I was looking for an app to control VLC on my media PC and that's exactly what this does, and it does it better than I ever could have imagined! Being able to browse my media from my phone is a really great feature. This app is almost perfect! The one and only feature I would like to see if the ability to change the color scheme since I've never been a big fan of VLC orange. Worth every penny and I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

So far it has worked great. It was worth it for me to pay for the unlocked version. The UI is well designed an intuitive, and has functioned perfectly. It's the final step I've needed to make a complete standalone media player. Thank you! Update 14 Oct 2020: Very happy with this app after using it for some time. Haven't run into a single problem. My home theatre viewing during this pandemic would be noticably more frustrating without it. I bought a tablet to dedicate to this and volumio

It's the best app I have used for controlling VLC. It's so intuitive that within 5 minutes, I was using it as if I'd had it for ages! Setup is a breeze. Just download it to your PC, enter the code generated onto your mobile, and you are up and running. It's better than a physical remote. Controls are clear, and you have all the features, such as turning subtitles on and off, lip sync etc. at your fingertips. That's the free "Lite" version. Browse your media files and much more with this version.

Great app wether you have the free version or paid. Most of what I watch for TV is on my computer and played through VLC. Tried other programs to use as a remote but they didn't work well or at all. Then I found this app, why didn't I type in vlc remote sooner. The free version is good but the paid version is well worth the cost if you use it as much as I do. Simple quick setup makes it even better. I give it 10 stars but Google will only let me give 5.

After some slight difficulties installing, this app did exactly what it says it will do, and more than you might expect. It's great for streaming VLC to your YouTube or Google TV; just set "Renderer" in VLC to the device you want to cast to, and you can play any compatible file (which is virtually anything) to that device while never leaving your seat. I've used other VLC Remotes and found them to be quirky; sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. This app REALLY works, and is worth the $$

I have been looking for a quick and easy way to play radio streams from my mac mini through my hi-fi amp without the hassle of having the tv on, and using a wireless keyboard/mouse as a controller. This plus vlc appears to have provided the answer at a very reasonable price - worth every penny. Thanks for the app and bye-bye to my fm tuner! :)

This is the best VLC remote I have found. I use it with VLC on Linux/Ubuntu. Very easy to setup and connection to my laptop was hassle free. Setting up playlists from a large library of music is fast and easy. Remote control features are well designed and reliable. I had a detailed technical question and the owner got back to me quickly with helpful answers.
