Constantly crashes, reboots, making the system really unstable. Offline download is not working I get a black screen all the time when I have to press ''done''. We should be able to download immediately without having to tick all the boxes one by one: of course we want everything! You can't listen and have your screen off! Battery drainer. It's a shame because the content seems good. But at that price, it's a no brainer: don't pay until they decide to make a real app.

Constantly crashing. Edit 2 years later: Two years later, still constantly crashing. App is an absolute disaster. Use their web browser on the PC. More edits months later: app doesn't even open anymore. It's a shame. The chinese learning content is good but the app is a 0/10. More months later: app still doesn't even open, even on a new phone. Edit again: 3 different phones over 3 years, app has never really worked for me. It doesn't even load.

The lessons don't have any excercise material. Also it crashes all the time. When you play a lesson and turn off the screen, the audio stops. After the latest update the audio also stops when you minimize the app. This worked before (great job making it worse with an update). Sorry to say but the app is really terrible. This is really sad since the Chinese pod website is so amazingly good.

First thing I noticed upon the update is that my decks have all disappeared so I have to re-add all the vocabs I previously saved for my learning. This is certainly not in line with the goal of the app which is to encourage learning and makes it fun, not frustrating. The app has many potential but the obvious lack of planning ahead in its development and not understanding how students learn can prove to be detrimental down the road.

Good content, a bevy of features for learners of all levels, the app architecture and layout is very well designed, and the interface is fairly user friendly; however, I have to slash 2 stars because the app simply doesn't deliver everything smoothly. Its a shame, because this could easily be a 5 star app and judging from the features included, they have the software engineering talent to make that a reality. As others have mentioned, there are bugs which make using the app a frustrating experience. For example, I tried listening to an episode via streaming, but it constantly pauses or restarts. That makes it impossible to concentrate. As a result I cannot incorporate learning on the go into my schedule. I purchased a one year subscription so I am invested in seeing a turnaround. I hope someone from Chinesepod will read this and make some changes and maybe give me an extra two month as I really haven't felt like dealing with the app on account of the bugs I encountered and am wasting my membership.

App doesn't load at all any more. My desktop account logs in and works fine, but not the app. Uninstalled and reinstalled with no effect. Just pulls up the logo and never gets further than that. Frustrations with the app were why I didn't renew my subscription and (now that I'm revisiting it) why I didn't re-up today.

It's working again, very well! Thank you so much! The only feature I miss is listening training. It would be nice if every sentence could be saved to the decks like in the website. And then the audio could be repeated for training listening. Like in the decks app. If that would work offline it would be perfect! 😁

Great potential... is all this app has. The podcasts don't have content (it always says no vocabulary, no excercises, no dialogues, no expansions etc. despite the fact all of the above exists on the website!!) I subscribed for a year because i loved the content, but since I don't have a lot of access to my computer and can only use the app I'm losing a lot of the features I'm paying for... (Furthermore, the new content that is not by Fiona and Gwylem is quite unprofessional.... childish even.)
