Unfortunately this system while great in theory has always been buggy. When we first got it we allowed it because it was one of the first and knew it wasn't great. But now with so many options we are switching When you've gone almost a week without being able to do anything despite refreshing, unloading and redownloading the app etc and then to have to pay to be told to do all the things that the help centre pages suggest... not helpful

Terrible system. Over the 4 years we've had this installed, just problem after problem. It had been working OK for a bit, but a new app update isn't working on my phone. Tried everything, including the 'fix' they've mentioned in the comments here. Nope, not working. No customer support response to email. So we've decided - finally - to ditch the system. Unfortunately, seems we can't without an astrophysics degree, so stuck with it for now. Absolutely do not purchase.

I've had an HG system for about 7 years. I've put up with the teething bugs and clunky interface for long enough. The app will no longer speak to the Hub. I can use the website, but its hit and miss as to whether the commands sent actually reach the valves. There is ZERO customer support - they want £70 just to arrange a phone call! This was one of the first of its kind, but more reliable brands like HIVE now support multi-zone. I'm moving to them.

When it breaks, it's impossible to recover. The concept of the whole system is very good, but the system is buggy as hell. The app and the hub just stopped working one day and no amount of restart and disconnect /connect made any difference. The system isn't cheap either, so now I'm left with £800+ worth of useless electronics.

Great when it works, but just keeps going wrong. Average of once a week I reckon. Either no heating, app doesn't connect, hub forgets zones... and on and on.. go for a more established brand. I've now not been able to connect via the hub for a week. Can via a laptop fine, reinstalled the app etc. But nothing works.

I really want to like this system as the concept is brilliant, but it goes wrong often enough to be frustrating. We've just lost the temperature sensor on the boiler again and when I try to report the bug it will not send (something went wrong, try again later - oh the irony). Temperature offsets do not work, rooms stop heating 3-5 degrees below the set value and devices have dropped off the system or gone rogue. Reliability is critical in a heating system and at the moment it not quite there.

The app is buggy. I've needed customer support (who have been v.helpful by phone) to remove unwanted device configs which the app purports to be able to delete, but can't. Word to the wise? You may need to factory reset even new hardware if setting up yourself (TRV and digistat), also if the boiler controller can't 'see' the network, then consider excluding / re-including it fm the network (a software reset). Get the helpdesk guys on the phone to assist as they can do things from the back-end.

It used to be a good heating control with nice features, but the previous updates made it very unreliable. Sometimes it works, sometimes the hub freezes and keeps the boiler turned on or off indefinitely, sometimes the connectivity is lost for no reason. I've been using the system for a year but I'm already considering replacing it with a more reliable one.
