Simple yet versatile backing track tool for practicing bluegrass/old-time - much more fun than playing with a metronome. Huge library of tunes which easy to customise (key, chord sequence, bpm, etc) or you can make up your own really easily. Speedup function is also really useful. Agree with another review that it would be nice to customise the strum patterns, hopefully this will be on the roadmap...

Top notch in its kind! An absolute must-have tool for any aspiring Bluegrass instrumentalist or vocalist. Easy-to-use, to-the-point and astonishingly cost-effective. The annual subscription is recommended for maximum savings (you can cancel it any time and receive a pro-rated refund at the time of writing).

I cannot praise SM enough. As a melody instrument, it is boring to practice my repertoire. SM is so easy to use, I literally added my own repertoire, 1 minute each tune. Plus you can share and copy other people's creations. Wiki-type thing. For chord players....this is a GREAT way to keep rhythm and learn the chords....or heck a great cheat sheet to take to gigs. This app does not require internet to use, only to load songs. I am a professional violonist/fiddler.

Seems like it might be useful, but sadly unusable because of the subscription model. I'd happily pay for a full version, I'm sure a lot of work went into this, but 5€ a month is ridiculous. Do app developers really expect us to pay 5€ a month for every app we use?

I absolutely LOVE Strum Machine!!!! I joined a weekly local jam session of Old Time fiddle tunes. I did not know any of the tunes, but I play mandolin, and I needed the chords. Friends in the jam had Strum Machine, and they showed me how to put Strum Machine in my android phone. So I can easily play along with all the tunes! I download new tunes often to Strum Machine, and have downloaded tunes lists from several sources. Also, Luke has helped me with how to make a 2/4 measure in 4/4 time

This app has been so incredibly useful, especially in jams. If you play bluegrass, this is the multi tool you want in your pocket. It was particularly helpful at the IBMA World of Bluegrass convention last week.

Very nicely-done app for musical backup, with an emphasis on fiddle tunes. Simple but pretty full-featured. Sound quality is excellent. Does ask for a subscription, but I am always happy to support well-done software that is useful to me.
