Fun but the more I have played the more I suspect that dice rolls are being tilted to falsely achieve higher difficulty levels instead of improving the play strategy for higher levels. Although the straight statistics might look good, it's the context that matters and it's uncanny the way it slants and especially when. I don't know, I have fun with it, and for the price I think it's worth trying for yourself to see what you think.

Regular updates, with better strategies, tougher levels, lifetime stats, new and easier move input, match review, match replay with unique start seed, good explanation on the probability, ... They really listen to player feedback: the recent 8th level is finally a better challenge. Still possible to beat the cpu in 2 out of 3 matches, but it with better doubling cube decisions and no more stupid moves when bearing off, it is nice for practicing.

I don't care what they claim. The dice are NOT random. I played 10 games, lost 8 and the CPU had way, way too many doubles for it to be random and they occurred at very opportune times for the CPU. What is so hard for games as this to have a good random number generator? The game cheats! I like the game otherwise, many options, but deleted it as my chances of winning are not fair. I am a decent player with good common sense.

I'm loving level 8. It's way less stupid about bearing off and doubling strategy, and I feel easy less like it's cheating than I've long felt as though the two AI levels (6 and 7) does. If there's anything I'd like to see tweaked it's that while playing it is way more fun orb also feels ... reckless. Like I said, FUN...but I feel like the algorithm needs a LITTLE adjustment.

On level 4 (out of 8) the CPU always gets the first roll. And it always rolls what it needs to put you on the bar if you have a blot open. I see there are continued updates so perhaps this will get better. But I do like this game Update: that may be true, however this is my experience. 11/12/2024: so I've kept a tally of the number of times that the app wins the opening roll. It wins it about 80% of the time. The lifetime stats are bogus. Also, 8 out of 10 times it rolles doubles for itself wh

AI level seems to be improved but still quite weak. One notable blunder is to always advance the backmost piece when it can't bear off, even when this clearly delays being gammon-safe (I've scored several unforced gammons). Doubling blunders are also common, especially when neglecting match score tactics. L I play L8 to 15 with a match win rate around 80%, so to all you backgammon conspiracy theorists, no, it does not cheat. If you lose, it's because you aren't very good. Sorry.

i really like playing this game. I'm actually addicted to it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 star's is that even at it most difficult settings when playing the computer it's too easy to win. Still, it's a fun game to play. Update 9/14/24 After new updates it is unbelievable how bad it is. I've been playing this game for a very long time and this is the first time I can confidently say it is programmed to cheat for the computer. I paid for this game and will be deleting NOW! On the whole it's a good app, it works well and the UI is user friendly. My only issue with it is that the AI is just not that strong, even on the highest level an intermediate Backgammon player will have no difficulty beating it 75% of the time in matches which for Backgammon is BAD. The biggest problem is that the engine fundamentally doesn't understand how cube decisions are influenced by match points, and it plays a lot of nonsense doubles when it's 1 away or even in DMP. Bad for practice.
