Terrible Bluetooth connections stability both for the app and for the pi device. Seems to be a problem with newer phones rather than older phones. They can most likely release a firmware update if they took the time.

Unstable Bluetooth connection with the app, no over the air firmware update support. I can't connect to other helmets. This is a very bad value for the money.

App crashes when trying to change device name. App doesn't launch any device settings and when selecting the option there's no feedback to indicate anything is happening to either open the settings or indicate back to me that the settings don't work on Android. User guide is poorlly written and possibly out of date given the incomplete information and guidance on how to use intercom mode once paired with another user. Device connected to Android user can't initiate intercom mode.

Pretty pointless App for the R1 helmet. Can you actually do anything with it?? It told me to update the firmware, but that had to be done on a PC. Would be nice to actually control some of the functions of the helmet rather than trying to remember and input endless button combinations whilst you are riding! The guide doesn't even show how to operate the radio. Need to refer to the cardboard booklet that came with the helmet for reference...hope I don't ever lose it!

The helmets and their intercom feature works great but setting them up and the app itself is one of the most frustrating experiences you'll ever have. Throw all logic to the wind and you just might figure it out. You have 2 helmets paired to one phone? It never shows you what helmet you're actually controlling. You switch which helmet you're controlling by going to the QR code scanner. Go look at your paired helmet list and it's cryptic alphanumeric that isn't written on the helmet.

The user interface could be improved. I wish they would allow the firmware to update in the app, why do I need to plug it in a computer when than app knows it needs updated (the latest firmware might have done that. It does not say what it does other than, "enable automatic firmware updates"). Another user mentioned turn signals, that would be nice. Other than that it seems to function.

The app works well with my Sena R1 M smart cycling helmet. It allows me to control the intercom setting, the light in the back, the radio, and playback of music from my phone. Unfortunately, it's missing some key features. It doesn't have a battery level indicator, and neither does the helmet, as far as I have discovered. The app also tells me to update the firmware, but I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. I guess I need to take some time to read the manual. I'd rather be biking.

Works okay with my R1 Evo. Wish Sena would add the capability to use the indicator lights on the back of the helmet as a left/right turn signal. This would be a great option as both an option in the app and also via voice commands. Also, landscape mode needs to be supported when the phone is rotated.
