Five stars for Samsung S23 and S24 Ultra. I just fired up a brand new S24 and from downloading, installing, registering/verifying and connecting to my Tech Air 5 took one minute. Everything works as it should. Great! 0 stars for Samsung Galaxy Note 8. It used to work. This is a back up phone and the app no longer works. I tried everything. It's something with the permissions. I allowed all and it's saying I'm not. Un-installed, rebooted, reinstalled. Nope! Bummer.

Once you log in, the app appears to work without issue. The consistent problem I have is that it won't allow me to log in, or even start the app, unless I set my default browser to Chrome. Trying to login through Firefox throws a fatal error, and starting the app after the initial login is impossible without changing default system browser settings. Not all of us use Chrome, and this seems like a glaring oversight.

The app doesn't work anymore, it returns an error that it doesn't have an identifier when trying to login so you can't use it. You should not have to login anyway to access the device. I don't have to do that for every other motorcycle device I have. Since Astars can't get their authentication working with their app, now it's totally unusable, so I can't check for status or get firmware updates, or even make any settings changes.

This app sucks. If I'm lucky enough to get it to connect, it just disconnects. There is an update and all I get when I try to update, is a message to choose tech air vest and then it disconnects. I've deleted it and reinstalled it several times and it does the same thing. I've called tech support and they tell me the same thing. I just don't bother to use the app. Alpinestars, please fix this.

I've never actually been able to use the app because I've never been able to fully sign up. I never get the verification code that is supposedly sent to my phone number. edit : I tried 5 times about 3 weeks ago to no avail. This morning I also tried 3 times and surprisingly on the third attempt it did finally send me the code. Now I get to battle the constant connectivity issues everyone else mentioned.

The app would not let me open it without crashing and closing out. What finally fixed this behavior on my galaxy S21 was to proactively grant all permissions (location, Bluetooth devices, etc) via app info menu. Once done I was finally able to open the app and register the vest. From that point on my experience improved quickly and the app and connectivity with the vest has worked flawlessly.

This app is horrible. I expect tested functionality when I purchase a system especially at this price point, but I simply cannot maintain a connection while riding no matter how close I get to the phone, and it appears I am not unique in this area. I have a Samsung S10. I hope this will be corrected soon. Addendum: After further testing, the app stays connected fine in the house, but not while riding. Interference from the bike perhaps?

It doesn't work on my Galaxy S7. Maybe because it's an old phone? It worked for a while. Now, when I start the app, it quickly shows a message that says 'The app stopped working' and it never gets beyond that point. I tried uninstalling and re installing, but same thing. I think I'll end up selling the vest, because I need the app to change between Street and Race mode.
