Excellent app, which I found when I was searching for a ship's bells app (to sound the traditional Royal Navy bells which mark the passage of each watch - three bells in the forenoon watch being 09.30, for example). I didn't find anything which didn't look like its UI was designed for Windows 3.1, but I did find this and I love it. I'll buy the plus version shortly. I will use it to support my meditation practice, to help me be more in the moment throughout the day.

Big Ben Bonger beautifully reproduces Big Ben’s chimes, but it has two major flaws: 1. it frequently stops and needs a manual restart. Even with battery optimization disabled, the issue persists, unlike my other apps. This defeats the purpose of an automated clock chime. Whether it's a resource leak or a bug, it needs fixing. 2. Also, the app should respect the phone's mute setting. Fix these issues, and it could be a great companion.

I fixed it. Turned out that my phone needed to be rebooted. Other than my hiccup that I just had, I love this app. I actually depend on this Big Ben Bonger app. I use it at work, when I need to get to a doctor's appointment, dentist appointment keeping. I really like how you can actually hear the sound effects of the clicking sound of the clock mechanism and stuff. Nice touch! I use this app for both Westminster chime and the clicking noise of the clock mechanism. Keep this up!

Yes! This is the app I didn't know I needed all this time. I find the chimes both comforting and useful at keeping me productive (because I tend to daydream and lose track of time). After testing this free version for a few hours and loving it, I decided to buy the plus version, not so much because I needed extra features, but as thanks to the developer for making a great, ad-free app that doesn't sell my data. Be sure to follow directions to disable battery optimization so it works correctly!

Brilliant! Love it! I've seem a few bad reviews containing bugs and issues, but they're all outdated from what I can tell. I love the fact it CONSISTENTLY knows the time, and chimes ON POINT. Better than any other clock app I've seen! I have real clocks that chime, but when I'm out the house or they're on silent this is a great substitute! Good job developer(s), you've hit the ball out of the park with this one. Edit: thank you for letting me know the pro version goes free, I'll get it fo sho!

What it does is great. 2 very annoying flaws for me. On Android; I would like it not to turn off when I press close all. It should have it's own off in the app. I would like the volume to be independent of the system. Let the volume be set in the app not by the keys. There must be a way to keep apps open after close all. I have 4 that never close unless I drag down the bar and swipe Them away.

This app has worked very well so far. There are many others; some of which I have tried personally. This is the only one that has not mysteriously become unresponsive or militates against Android system processes...-,yet. Android 11, One UI Core 3.1, Samsung A21s,32GB RAM. Always updated and lovingly maintained.

Wonderfully nostalgic of the mantle clock from my childhood. I love this app. The only thing I would like to see added is a ticking sound that could play in the background the whole time (with an on/off option for it of course). I use a second app for the ticking, and together the two apps make for a soothing backdrop for when I am reading. It would be nice if the chimes and the ticking sounds were available all in one app. Nevertheless, fantastic work as it is.
