Once upon a time, I would have given this app a higher rating. Many of the series are quality productions, even if many are also very cliché. However, it really bothers me how many series now cost an additional fee to unlock and read via the purchase of "gems," which are too pricey for my meager budget. This includes many that didn't used to cost extra. It's really frustrating to be asked to pay for something I've essentially already paid for. I'd much rather just pay a higher subscription fee.

I'm actually pretty upset. I've paid monthly for this app for several years now, and now they want you to subscribe for MOST comics and pay extra for access to certain other comics? You can't have both. I chose this app originally because it "was" a monthly subscription and not the pay per episode kind of deal. I'm really saddened by it and will probably end up canceling my membership over it.

Love the app even if you have to wait 24hrs to read each episode! It keeps me hooked! However, everything is becoming "free with subscription". Not a few good comics, everything. It's disappointing comics I haven't finished that I wait for every week and love so much now cost money. It's understandable-- especially if the writers and illustrators are getting that money for their work --but still extremely disappointing :( But this app is definitely a good one with tons of story reading option!

Manta is the one, and only, comic reading app I have. I'm a long time customer too, I pay for the premium subscription and have been for a couple years now. I think it's wonderful, I love being able to binge new comics. BUT, I am extremely frustrated and disappointed. Ever since they added the gems, it feels like it completely negates the point of paying for premium if they're going to have people buy gems and pay for individual episodes just to read them.

I used to adore this app. I've read so much and had so many saved comics. I stopped reading for a month to let the chapters build up and when I went to check on them again nothing would load what so ever! I have wifi AND mobile data, I restarted my phone, I even redownloaded the app! Now not only is my account with all saved data lost but it doesn't work at all even with a new account. I'm so heart broken and majorly disappointed. Beware new users.

This used to be one of the best deals for comic apps, but now it's the same as the others. The subscription is still an option, but the app is flooded with titles you can find on all the others that have to be unlocked chapter by chapter for micro transactions (like Tapas ink, Tappytoon points, Pocket Comics Coins) and the subscription, which was previously a great deal, doesn't cover as much as it used to. The new titles have slowed down loading too.

The reason im giving this one star is that it's kept charging to make you have to pay to read your book ,Every time a story gets completely or done with the first season, they change from waiting for the book to you have to pay I know the company want money. It's not the issue.The issue is that now i can't wait to finish reading my book's cause I'm halfway or nine pages to the end, and it's slightly annoying not to be able to finish. The payment is cheap, but people can't dish out money.

I have a subscription, but now, even with the subscription, they want me to pay for some of the stories that were supposed to be accessible with the subscription. What is the point?! If they needed more revenue, they should have just raised the subscription fee a little, like most subscription platforms. They need to get rid of whoever came up with this idea as they clearly did not do their market research. May as well go back to the free platform or go to another app.
