Down Detector is a helpful app for checking if popular services are down. It gives real-time outage reports and user feedback, which is great during service disruptions. However, the app is currently not working properly, which defeats its purpose. As a temporary solution, you can still check outages through Speedtest by Ookla, which shows service status too. If the app fixes bugs and adds more providers, it will regain trust and usefulness.

Sad times. This merge so far is not great.....3 favourites is no where near enough. Obviously there is a search function but not as convenient to see multiples at once. Eg all major credit cards and banks .....very useful in my business when there is a payment problem. I used to be able to have all banks on screen. Now have to check each one individually, one at a time.

Useful app. I check it every time i experience issues with a service. But i find it too bad, that whenever i cross the border, it automatically adds/fuses that countries's entire service list to my list. This happends even when selecting a specific country. And it won't be removed until after i fully reinstall the app. I live in the Netherlands, all the way south. So i often connect to an Belgian and German network. Then this issue occurs. Hopefully it will be fixed. Then it's a solid 5*

The simplest and easiest way to check if the trouble you're having with a service is on your end or their end. Allows you to add services to a favorites list for easy tracking. You can also filter the options to show services by their status (how much trouble other users have reported). Plus you can report issues you're having personally with just a few taps. I recommend it for your app collection.

Being told that the app i absolutely need is being shutdown and to install an app that I DON'T need is a bummer. i only wanted to see if sites/platforms are down, not test my speed. there's no excuse to need a speed tester in an app designed to tell me if a network is down or not. being back downdetector and get rid of speed tester.

This is an awesome crowdsourcing app. My home WiFi is typically very steady and reliable, so if I cannot access a website, or lose connectivity, Downdetector will inform me if it's just local to my computer or if it's an external issue. Great to have this app on my phone to quickly identify the reason for connectivity concerns. And of course my LTE+ delivers the fallback connection if it's ever an ISP problem.

Very confusing to use and the ads are EXTREMELY annoying. Other apps offer one-time purchase to remove the ads but this particular one only offers expensive subscriptions, the most you can do is a year for $12, also, it doesn't provide outage maps, everything and anything useful has to be purchased via a subscription. Better off using a website, quicker and free... A useless app indeed!

The down detector app is easy to use it detected that two of my accounts ended up being down for a few days, one back in September 2023 and one back in February 2024. Both of them are fitbit and straight talk. The fitbit app ended up not working due to a server problem, and my straight talk service was not working on my phone at the time, but this app was very helpful for telling me about the servers that were down and now my phone should have service back up and running again
