Edit: App no longer loads on any modern Android devices. So the drone is now unusable and just a lump of plastic to have to be disposed of. The controls work pretty good for touch screen controls. The instructions that came with the device are almost unreadable word soup, but well enough done to get you started. But, at the moment, I can't view any video recorded with the drone. I can hit record fine, go to the area of the app where the thumbnails are displayed of recorded videos, and if I tap any of the thumbnails, the app crashes. This would be less frustrating if the software recorded the videos and images to one of the standard folders, but I haven't been able yet to figure out exactly where it stores them.

It's a great beginner drone that anyone with practice should get down pretty easily. The app is your remote so everything is on your phone. Ok I'll walk you through the steps once you have this app downloaded on your mobile device. Step one, power on the drone, step two connect to the devices WiFi then launch the app. Then you should be on a screen. There on that screen is a button that activates the digital remote, turn that on. Then your left stick controls your altitude and pitch the other stick on your right controls direction. Forward, backwards, left and right. Make sure the jyro is calibrated and in the top right area in the app there are speed settings keep it at the lowest if you are beginning to fly with a drone or this one.

Update for you all: The app this item for is still available today for droves bought today BUT they have not updated the app to work with ANY current devices in the last year or so. Spin Masters MUST update the app to work with phones that have Android 7 and up. That is why everyone having problems suddenly. Phones and devices update to new android and app will stop working and these guys are not providing updates to function. Bought a new drone and found this out after and its non-returnable. Found app HD/Wi-Fi® Drone will work with this item.

Terrible as of the last couple months, and still the app won't even open to try to fly the thing. Using a Google pixel 2 xl, have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, have tried it with the past two Google OS updates as well with no luck. Our family buys and enjoys alot of air hog products but we are very dissatisfied with this one... PLEASE HELP????

The app would work well if I could watch the movie. Looking at it through the phone it looks great but when I go to play the movie, it crashes every time. Update..... app will no longer open.

Will not work with my new phone LG Stylo 5. Also will not connect to WiFi on original phone it was used with. If anyone else is having this problem I would suggest that everyone contact the developer. Flood them with emails until they fix it. I've had several problems with these air hogs apps and the drones and they need to do something about it.

this app does not even open up. I've downloaded it and deleted it turned my phone on and off and the drone is completely changed. my kids each just got one for xmas 2018 and obviously without the app they are junk. what a complete waste of time and money I am not happy.. for your reference my device Is a Samsung galaxy 8+

app won't run. uninstalled then reinstalled. Restarted phone. Still doesn't work. Apparently the app needs a lot of attention. So the drone is as useful as a paper weight.
