Overall a good app, it would be more stars if it was more visible which programs that have english subtitles as an option. Ive not seen swedish subtitles ever, our SVTplay usually have option for finnish subtitles. And as SVT and Yle work together, should be fixed :) But you barely have any subs in any program, apart from deaf. Makes it harder for ppl to ingrate to the country living in.

This app has its difficulties. One is that it loses connection with the casting device or smart TV. Another, is that it cannot play one episode after another.

Nice-looking app, but usability suffers as the podcasts are not easy to handle. If I stop listening or are thrown out, I need to click many times and then try to remember how far I got in the program. Further, to get to the latest episodes of interesting programs, I have to go to my favourites, then click the program and finally the right episode. I used to listen to Areena podcasts via Google podcasts but unfortunately that doesn't work anymore. It's a better app for podcasts.

Clunky and buggy UI, even more so than in the web version. Additionally, this one constantly has issues with sound. At least the streams don't get stuck as often as in their website. YLE could spend a bit more tax money on UX. Great content is no use if the only ways to view it are barely usable and buggy. Video player is a solved problem, so there's proof that this should not be an impossible task.

Works well enough if it weren't for the huge ever present yle logo that basically makes the app unusable for streamed video contet. It appears low res and is often the brightest element on screen in darker scenes which makes it stand out like a sore thumb. The same problem is even worse on oled screens as the logo is so bright and distinctly unsharp that it's incredibly distracting. Imo. an easy fix would be to inverse (same opaque gray colour for the yle letters only) it and make it smaller.

Couldn't get the app to work. Every time I open it, it loads for multiple minutes in the logo screen or hungs there forever. And when it sometimes actually opens, searches and everything else takes a long time. Also, I have never managed to actually start any stream from the app when I finally manage to find the program. Every other streaming app works quickly and I can view streams from areena website, so the problem is not with the internet connection. Edit: yes, I'm using the latest version

Edit. Well now I have to make acc in order to use it at all, great change for tax payers. Well started using it on Firefox. Kids are not happy when TV requires accout now.. When playing via Bluetooth to car stereo it doesn't often show the duration or track info anymore for some reason. My phone has 12Gb of RAM. One would think that it's enough to keep video url and time memorized when the app is in background. Some older version did keep it better.No I won't make an account just for that.

Good selection of documentaries and shows. Simple to use. I always find something to watch. Rating would be 5/5 but the subtitles (at least on Prisma documentaries) are annoying sometimes. They are purely white which means that they are very hard or impossible to read when on a white background. Please add a black outline or something similar to the subtitles so we can actually read them. Thank you.
