I gave the Karoo2 a try, but now I'm turning it into a paper weight. Back to Garmin I go. This app works when it feels like working. Some days it sends notifications to the head unit and others days it doesn't. I've gotten in the habit of restarting my phone, clearing the cache and turning off all other Bluetooth connections while this app is running. It still doesn't work.

This app is no longer compatible with Samsung S23 (and probably other Samsung phones), so you can't receive emails, etc, notifications on the Karoo. The Companion app doesn't appear in the app notifications list at all, and under the app settings, it shows "all notifications from this app are blocked" Other apps have also had this problem and been fixed by their developers (eg, Sure Petcare), who noted that they had to fix a permission issue with Android. Shame because it used to work well.

Connects to your phone, that's about it. You used to be able to plan a route from your phone. Not anymore, so it's quite useless now

The companion app doesn't allow me to turn notifications ON from the app settings, the field is greyed out, also it doesn't appear in the app list under notiffications. This suggests the app is not requesting the correct permissions. I receive call notifications but nothing else. It used to work with the Karoo 2 but it doean't with the Karoo (3).

Extremely disappointing for a £350+ device to have such poor phone notification integration. Phone connected when I first setup my device and test notifications seemed to be coming through with an audible chips on the Karoo 2. However once you turn off your Karoo and ride for the second time it will not work. I have repaired and installed the app multiple times. I launch and make sure the app is running on my phone. It will work once each time you fully pair it after that it simply doesn't work.

Completely worthless and intrusive. Does zero, nothing that I can see but demands all permissions, phone, contacts, notifications. I'm sure the private equity at SRAM have fun selling your data but I'm not into it. Provide an app which does something like sync, manage routes or synch maybe but this does none of that. Just delete and you'll be better off. This doesn't sync routes, has never added any functions. Not interested in k3 at all as SRAM has abandoned the platform it's competitive

Doesn't actually work. Such a poor app for such a great piece of kit! And yes, before you say you need to keep it running to recieve notifications, I have. I've carried out all the steps you've suggested and it still doesn't work. Why don't you have a go at building a new app? This one clearly doesn't work, just read the other reviews and ratings! 🤷🏻

The device is great but the companion app although sort of does what it states is poor for the only app to sync saved route's, with both Garmin and Wahoo when I add a new route from the strava app it syncs automatically yet on Karoo I have to log on to both websites on my laptop and then copy the route over to hammerhead and then it syncs why is it so difficult for this to not be done directly through the app ?
