this is a subscription app with a 7 day trial period, but unlike lots of other apps that pointlessly charge a monthly fee (like weather apps that are just pulling from some other site), this app uses actual people to review your photo and send you an email with detailed info about the snake. you can even respond with questions. I think the fee is completely justified, easy to use and fast response!

This is a very useful app for me and my family! We like to explore the woods and creeks of our area and come across snakes all the time. Often I know what we see, but there are times when I need some help to identify the snake. It is so easy! You snap a picture, send it in, and receive feedback very soon. There are a dozen volunteers responding at this point. Kudos to their expertise!

Honestly don't know why this app has such a low rating. You take a picture and upload it, it works well. Sure, the submissions aren't immediately classified by some AI robot, but that's actually why I like it. I don't need a response right away. The subscription is price is inexpensive enough and I don't mind supporting them!

Great app! Accurate identification in minutes. This app is different than the other snake identification apps run by AI. The apps using AI are not accurate most of the time. That could be dangerous when dealing with venomous snakes. Snakesnap has a group of experts who all evaluate your picture and identify your snake in minutes with 100% accuracy. Literally a life saving app. In addition they provide links to educational literature and you can ask questions and get answers back from an expert.

I'm new to an area in the South. Found a snake in my backyard where the dog spends her time, got nervous. Found this app. Downloaded it and went to snap a picture. The app told me that the Instant Identification was in Beta. At first I thought "oh well, this might be pointless then"... But I snapped the photo anyway. It told me that it might take up to 24 hours for a response. I was really disappointed... BUT...... Within about 15 minutes somebody texted back right away with a correct ID and ton of helpful info. I responded thanking them, and even asked some questions. It sounds like they are really hard at work at getting the Instant Identification ready. The app is sleek, the idea is great, the team is nice, and the problem the app is solving is a real one. Now I can finally leave this dumb "snake ID group" on Facebook that somehow always devolves to politics.

This is already a great application, and it is still going to improve. Beside the knowledge about snakes it can also save someone's life! Not knowing what snake you might be dealing with can lead to a tragedy. It also might prevent from killing a harmles, and a useful being. It is one of not many apps that I call 'priceless'. Lastly, thanks for saving a being's life!

Haven't lived in this area long enough to know much about the snakes here. Came across one and wanted to make sure it wasn't poisonous. I felt that trying to identify the snake by looking at images online might be a little tricky. So thankful to find this app and found out very quickly that it wasn't poisonous. Great job and keep up the great work!

This app is seriously the best ! I literally use it all of the time and the response times are usually within minutes with the correct identification:) So far in the last 2 months they have identified 3 northern cottonmouths, a banded water snake, and a redbellied snake for me . If you are unsure of the snake in your presence I would 100% recommend you give this app a try!
