The app works fine for me. However I have only had the system for less than a month. And I have already experienced problems with my camera loss. The technical support at defender is the worst I've ever had the privilege of dealing with. There is no way to talk to anyone or resolve your problem. Their technical support was designed this way on purpose. I have been waiting for a manager to call me for over 48 hours I guess this review might be the only way to contact them.

The Defender 4K app is way better. This is a step backwards. Buggy, very very slow to load cameras. Many times, just spins unable to get video stream, but the multiview works just fine! Go figure. Also, the DVR software in the new units is horrible compared to the original. I would fire the software team on this new version. Many options are gone. I love the old app and software. Whoever developed it knew what the customer needed.

Though the images are clear, playback doesn't always work. I will unplug to reset my Defender. Also when a camera detects something, playback starts at that moment, so I have to move the time bar back 5 seconds to catch the start of an event. I think your software also needs the colored bar showing the events so it's easier to find them. Yes, I know I can click on a picture that designates when an event happened. But they're easier to find with a colored bar event when you're in playback mode.

The empowe app was easy to install, use, and invite my husband to share. We have the 16 camera system, and I especially like the ability to snap pictures/videos without looking all over for them. They immediately loaded in my pictures and gallery apps in addition to the empower app. The detection page is awesome. I now go there to view first before using playback. It's great having the ability to listen during playback. Great system.

Had my system just over a year, 75% failure rate. The first two cameras replaced the last one out of warranty. What good is a system that will not last but a year or so. Now I understand why they only warranty their systems for a year. It cost a quarter of the system cost to replace the last camera. If any other cameras fail, the system goes on the trash.

Keeps saying device is offline when it is not. Trying to scroll through video for playback is also poor. Much better to have rewind, fast forward, and play controls in buttons than scrolling with your finger which is highly inaccurate trying to get to a certain time. No where near granular enough. Disappointing.

This app works great with the 8-camera Defender system that we have. The images are clear as well as the sound. We can view the cameras anywhere we have coverage. You can do almost everything on the app that is available on the main system (NVR.) We recommend this to anyone looking for a stable surveillance system.

Can I please download the video without having to play the segment I want backed up? (select start/ end time & download)(more than 10 minutes limit would be nice). Would help a LOT &/or make the OS recognize Flashdrives, Being the ONLY other way to back up video. The dev comments fail to recognize reality. Keep being delusional and not helpful. Your suggestions are all failures & invalid. "download" feature is a joke, it only allows upto 5minutes at most. I need more then an hour at a time.
