LingQ is a great app for learning language through interesting stories. Each story has a few more words of vocab, and gradually the stories get longer and more descriptive until most articles are manageable.

I think it is a good app all functions are good, but it seems to not concern much that German is complicated. We have Trennbar Verben in German (e.g. Anfangen) when I click to translate the vocab when it located seperately. The translation is correct but the word that shows on the card is "fangen" without "an" . And of course the same as the card game, it shows "fangen" instead of "anfangen". This can be bad for learning language. If I were new for this, I would understand "fangen = begin".

I'm learning German. I have a good grasp of the grammar and I already know a lot of words. I'm at the point that I really need to build out my vocabulary. For that reading is great. I don't know how good this app would be if I were just starting out, but it's great if you want to read a lot without having to jump to another app for translations. It also always you too flag words that you need more practice with and to review them. It's very entertaining to read with this app.

Extremely huge data consumption. It only has audio + text and I spend less than 20 minutes daily on it finishing a lesson or two. In a month period it consumed a whopping 102 GB!! the same period I consumed only 4GB on YouTube although I always open streams and 2GB tethering. Also, free version doesn't show translation except for 20 words in total which makes it hard to learn using it.

I struggled with navigation at first, but then figured out swiping. I can't get any stats to show after a lesson. All I see is number of times I listened and read. I do click on unfamiliar words and words I forgot, but not sure what the next steps are

First impressions are okay, the tutorial and popups are annoying as they can't be easily closed by clicking away and they don't pause the audio so you have to go back after each one and theres no option in the settings to disable it but the content itself is good.

Can't try without registration. There should ALWAYS be an option to try without registering. I bet I'll get the answer that registration helps the user experience - I GET IT, but every person looking for a language learning app downloads 20, tests them, and picks their favourite. Registering everywhere is a waste of time. Respect my time. I KNOW, everyone ALWAYS says registration improves the user experience - I said it already. But I want to try WITHOUT REGISTRATION FIRST, RESPECT MY TIME.
