[Update] Raising to 4 stars as the app now works with WiFi consistently and I'm also able to monitor remotely when not at home. Will go five stars if this remains consistent. Grill is connected to Wifi but the app will only connect using Bluetooth, and only when I'm standing within 8 feet of the grill. Borderline useless. I was hoping the grill update would have solved that. Nah.

Same experience as others. No longer does notifcations, and it keeps resetting the temp to 130 constantly. The concept sounds awesome, but it kinda ruins the experience. Update- dropped to 1 star because the temp dropping to 130 is terrible and can ruin a cook. 2nd update - what is the point if an app if it won't notify me of an issue in my cook. Still a garbage app and will never buy pit boss again.

Bluetooth intermittently connects. It'll work fine for 5 minutes and then stop working until you shut the grill down and restart it. And, yes, I'm 5 inches from the control panel and Bluetooth is enabled on my phone. Wi-Fi connectivity is damn near a joke. Finally, as with most of these apps, there's almost no way to get in touch with customer service and even if you do, they just blame it on you.

When, it works, it does what it's supposed to do. The problem is that it doesn't work about half the time. For some reason it can't hold a sign in more than two hours, so you regularly have to log in multiple times through a cook. It also does not always do a great job of tracking your cooks all the way through. If you're choosing a Pit Boss smoker with smart features and one without, save your money.

This most recent app is unfortunately a downgrade. The one from years ago was reliable, connected and had better analytics for the cook. This one rarely connects local or remote, lots of server errors, and the analytics reset at random. Setting temps and times takes 3 or more tries or a force reset of the app. Honestly, if they brought back the app from 2-3 years ago it would be very welcome.

Good Grill, terrible app! This app is very glitch and crashes/freezes very often. Alarms on app are nothing more then a push notification with a single ding when alarm goes off. There is no way to feed the auger without enabling the igniter. The recipes are difficult to search. The cooking analytics screen is very basic with no good description of time interval.

After every app update there are less functioning features in the app. At one point everything connected but the app had almost nothing useful in it. Now I occasionally get Bluetooth to work, the probes show on the main screen but not analytical and forget having a wifi connection. Don't bother with the app and just run it from the controller on the smoker. At least they haven't broke that functionality yet

The new app looks nice and has potential. The problem is once you lock the screen of your phone or close the app, it doesn't "reconnect" to the grill. There is a serious connectivity bug in this app. Grill is connected to WiFi and within Bluetooth range. Just have to hit "retry" on the connection failed message like 40 times before it connects again after closing app. So frustrating. Completely defeats the purpose of the app since it's useless after opening it once during the same session.
