I use this for learning auditions and weekly scene work in a class. It's okay but not great. But all the other line learner apps (at least for Android) are way worse. It has some trouble importing sides, especially when there are things in the margins like, "Sides by Breakdown Services - Actors Access" and Start/End marks. I like the computerized voices because it keeps me from expecting the same voice and read when I do the scene.

This helped me so much! Timed playback, prompts, PDF upload, rehearsal sections...and this is just the free version. I was able to take a picture of my script, copy the text from the picture, paste the text to a word doc, and print that as a PDF to upload into the app. After a few edits of the lines, rehearsing was a breeze. The voice is robotic, and I don't know if the paid version offers different voices, but it worked out well for me.

This is an updated review. Back when I used this in 2018 I found the app decent, now it's completely unusable, both on android and Apple. It won't allow me to record using my own voice on my iPhone so I grabbed my old android instead and if I stop recording and try togoback to finish reading the script it doesn't allow me to record my voice at all. Writing it out is not an option with a large script. Waste of money.

It can take a LONG time to set up. Importing a file is really buggy, lines will be messed up, or absent, or assigned to the wrong person, and you'll need to go through and fix it in the app BUT once you get it up and running it really really helps mem memorize. So, if you’re willing to put in the work, it's a big help.

This app was absolutely fantastic before they revamped it. I wouldn't mind paying up to $10 for the original version if they really cant offer it for free anymore. But the new version is just no longer user friendly. Seems really tedious to record lines now. Used to be beautifully simple and easy to use. No way am i paying a yearly fee to use this new garbage. It was great while it lasted🙁

I gave five stars for the level of customer service as well as effectiveness of Script Rehearser. When I changed phones, I was having difficulty accessing and uploading--customer service got right back to me, looked into it and I believe made changes so that the app works on my phone version. The features aren't high def or anything like a video game, But I am memorizing script not playing a game. Even my castmates have inquired and remarked how I know my lines! (Affordable upgrade!)

I was an earlier adopter of this app, and used it for approximately 6 years before it rolled some of its features into a pro, paid version. I didn't hesitate to fork over the cash. Over half a decade of being able to use it for free, and a flat fee of $40 (at the time) for a lifetime subscription? The app paid for itself a long time ago, over 6 years of free use, every time I didn't go up in performance as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for continuing to help me through after all this time.

Excellent app overall. Would be better if the user could choose a female voice for female characters, and male voice as male characters. Would be great if there were at least 12 different male and female voices, and a few "narrator" voices. The thing I really want right away is to control the voice's pitch and speed. Thank you for keeping this affordable!
