Stories are good and audio quality is great, but app needs some quality of life improvements. Stopping audio playback needs to be much easier. Most audio apps have a pause button on the lock screen, this app does not. You must unlock the phone and open the app in order to pause. Most apps stop playback if headphones get detached, this app does not. If headphones get detached, playback continues on the phone, this can cause trouble in inappropriate situations. The audio stories track well with the book. The French speaker has a good voice. The app itself is just ok, pretty basic and a little buggy. For whatever reason, each time that I want to launch app, i have to go into google play store to retrieve the app..it doesn't put an icon on my screen

it works fine, and is very helpful hearing the text as i read along in the book. the interface is a bit clunky and slow, but hey it's not a video game, it just needs to deliver clear crisp audio which it does just fine. i also like that i can slow the audio down which is helpful when learning a language. i am glad to have this app.

I tried to read Russian short stories. The worst experience I have ever had in my entire life. There are spaces in between the stressed letter and others. ( Like this: ск о лько ) It makes the word separated in to 3 parts. You get confused and very hard to grab the word as a single word. Making the stressed letter bold is just enough. I couldn't read more than two words and I uninstalled the app. Very very very bad.

Edit: This is the right app to pair with the paperbacks. This is what I did - I created an account on the website, entered the coupon code, and purchased them there. Then, I just logged in and had to download the audio files onto my local device (this android phone). 2/5 because it technically works but many people won't be able to figure that out.

What a scam. I bought the physical book and wanted the accompanying audiobook. So I bought it off the website. When I tried to listen to it through the browser, there was just a white blank screen. I tried different browsere but nothing worked. So I downloaded this god awful app and the book is stuck at a 0% download. Yes, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and signing out then back in. Then I tried to submit a ticket online to customer service and it said that I was not allowed to.

The least you should be able to expect from a reading app is that it displays all the text of a book. This app doesn't - words overspill one side of the page and there are no settings I can tweak to fix this. On purchasing a language book on the parent site your only way to download the book is to use their reading app and it doesn't display properly!

Definitely not worth the trouble or expense. fortunately only cost me $7.50 from Teach Yourself, but can't get App to open, so "library" (of one item) is useless. I know now not to try any more of these Audio Files. Not even worth one star.
