Used for over 4 years now. In my most recent upgrade on Android 13, everything seems to work well. However there is a problem with recording track - it just seems to forget the route at random - sometimes after a mile or 2 or after 7 or 8 miles. Quite annoying really! I use Topo GPS for location only now and use another app for recording track with no problems. Conclusion - recording feature not interacting correctly in Android 13 - needs fixing.

Focus on costly topographic maps whereas osm topo maps are equally good if not better, and free. Openstreetmap is accessible as well but not the topo versions as far as I can tell.

Great app with just the functionality I need. However you need to fix map download and update in android 14. Even if map coverage states 89% and there are hundreds of MB map to download there is no progress on the download. If I select another area it might work.

Can't access my maps since the update, I'm not due for renewal until 30:7:24. Not happy 🤬🤬 Time to cancel and look elsewhere I think. I've updated the app.... and now it's working. I would just point out that this app is for navigation, lives may depend on it! Please check updates and iron the bugs out before releasing them. Thank you

Brilliant app that means you can't get lost, even if footpaths aren't obvious. Cheaper than OS Maps too. A problem caused by a recent update was also sorted promptly by Support, and the contact person in the Netherlands was very friendly and helpful.

Update: don't know if it was the latest update, but the GPS is working as it should now and recording properly in the background. I have also gone into my setting to make sure the app is never put to sleep to save battery power (permissions all looked fine already). Plotting a route is still a bit clunky, but this is the best hiking tracking app I've used, as an alternative to the old Viewranger discontinued App.

I was a longtime Viewranger fan. Call me cheap but I don't want to pay a subscription service for an app I might use 4 times a year. This app has a very clear design, I spent $10 for great map coverage (perpetual not subscription) and within 15 minutes was out jogging in unknown territory with clear route tracking. Seems to be everything I need. After the hike I wish there were some additional statistics such as total elevation but still worth the 5 star review
