Great app. Downloading prevents "No Service" issues. The history was great and the timing of the stops was spot on. Word of caution, if you miss a turn and get on the wrong road - it just plays local themed music for you. If the narrator isn't talking to you for about 10 minutes, rethink your position - in life.

I bought it 3 years ago and was able to use 1 out of the 5 tours successfully. I'm back on the big island and tried it again today from Hilo. Worked great until it forgot to tell me to turn right towards Waipio lookout, which was on the tour. I didn't notice until I was 33 minutes away, already inland. Cost me an extra hour of driving back and forth. Once we noticed the missed turn, the tour wouldn't continue, just the music. Once we got to N Kona, I tried that tour unsuccessfully. So sad.

After the first 3 "stops" it stopped working. It read "Please wait" and a circle went round and round like it was buffering, but it had been downloaded, so buffering shouldn't have been involved. We waited, nothing happened. Waste of money. They give you tips that involve reporting the problem, deleting and downloading again. All impossible since we didn't have cell service in the park. Update. Shaka Guide did refund our money, so I am upgrading to 3 stars.

This tour was the highlight of our visit! I stopped at places I never knew existed and saw so much more using this app. We found the tour guide informative and humorous. The music had to be paused a few times as it was a bit much, but other times, the music was thoroughly enjoyable. I was impressed how the tour kept up with us, even with no phone signal in the park. I highly recommend this app and will use it again when I get the chance.

Easy app to follow, very detailed directions, and alot of rich rich history to learn from these tours! Plus, makes any adventure easy if you don't plan anything, you just want to drive. Wouldn't mind some of the directions to turn for certain attractions a bit sooner, but other than that the app works great! Used it many times showing people around the islands

We were so thankful that our car rental service (White Glove Car Rental) recommended this app for us to use on our drive on the road to Hana. It was our own personal tour guide while playing great music, telling great history and legends,and letting us know all the great stops. We had to purchase the other trips it had as well and missed it when we weren't using it. Make sure to download the app & the tour you're taking before heading out so that you don't have any problems when you lose service

It gave great detail on our Road to Hana. Would have been better to know when the turn offs or parking would be in miles or minutes. We were unable to stop at some locations due to not knowing how fast it will come up or not enough parking space. However, the guide was very informative and entertaining!

I wish that there was 10 star rating for this app. First of all, it is VERY informative in real time as you are passing the points of interest. And the stories are very good and entertaining. You almost forget that the tour guide in your vehicle is not a live person speaking directly to you. The music is on topic and very good and sometimes funny. It's almost sad when the tour ends because you are loosing this entertaining guest on board. Great job Shaka, I'll be using your tours on every trip.
