As someone who usually only reviews apps when they suck, I needed to make an exception for Sync because it does, and I can't stress this enough, everything right. I have yet to find a single issue with the app (aside from the occasional bug, though they tend to get fixed reasonably quickly so I have no issue with that) and I've been using the app since back when it was a reddit client and it's always been great.

Haven't used it for long, but it seems like it has many of the features I was looking for in a Lemmy client. Swiping left and right on a post for quick actions is something from other clients that I kind-of miss, but it does have data saving options which I really appreciate. I do really prefer FOSS though, so I can tell you I'll probably switch once I find something there with the features I'm looking for.

Sync does everything I expect it to. Configurable, quick and a generally well-considered UI (with a couple of minor exceptions). Though there is a random crash here and there, it's still my go-to time waster. Minus one star for the rendering issues it seems to have. Posts are bare-bones compared to others I have seen.

Imagine paying $130 for an app and the developer leaves basic functionality broken for months at a time. That's the Sync experience. Edit 5: Fact remains, there are a number of FOSS options that stay on top of basic features and actually check in with their community, without charging a dime. This app is, as a result, not worth spending money on. Why would you want a broken experience for $ when you can get a better one for free.

Sync was 100% the best way to browse Reddit on my phone, so when I learned that Sync was being made for Lemmy, I knew that I'd use it for that, too. Sync is not a FOSS app, but if FOSS isn't the most important thing to you, then Sync is the best you can get for a Lemmy app, hands down. It's user-friendly, has a nice, clean appearance and runs incredibly smoothly. The dev is also super responsive to any issues that arise, which is great. Definitely give Sync a try, you won't regret it!

As a long time reddit sync user I tried sync and a few other clients for lemmy upon the reddit api exodus, coming up to 2 years since then and Sync remains my go-to app for browsing Lemmy! Its feature packed, responsive, beautiful, customisable and not overbearing with its monetisation. Thank you Sync devs for making leaving and staying away from reddit seamless and natural. Cheers!

Longtime user of Reddit Sync which I continue to use post-shutdown with the custom API key method. Sync for Lemmy is the same great app we loved reconnected to the Lemmy network replacing Reddit. Super polished UI, smooth fluid operation with lots of customizability and easy multi-account management. Highly recommended. Only downside to this app is that it is closed source.

It's a great app, and if you're coming from the Reddit version it will feel very familiar and really ease the transition. There are a few UX issues that I don't think are intrinsic to the app, but other apps seem to be able to handle, like viewing a user on a post from another instance sometimes makes you open the post first. Development is spread out over long chunks of dead time where bugs go unaddressed, but overall the experience is good and generally smooth.
