Notifications open the app, but do not lead to mentioned article. Once the app is open I'm unable to find the article mentioned in the notification received. Aside from that, I quite like this app. It brings me news from a wide variety of local sources, as well as broader news about my state. Very efficient as most of the articles aren't posted anywhere else or are difficult to find. Would definitely give 5 stars if the notification issue was fixed.

Originally when I installed this "app" it seemed to stay in the 30mi. radius, then it quickly moved out to 50+miles to areas I have No interest in. I contacted Local News help desk, to my surprise they called back and informed me that at this time they didn't have a way for the user (me) to input manually my preferences. They did say that they have plans to allow users preferences. Original post I started was back on 03/2018. It's now 05/2019.

It is a terrific concept with good layout, and choices of distance from where one lives, but whenever I try to use it there are only listed headlines & no write ups when I click onto any, so I don't know what's even going on concerning that particular news.The app is ideal in that whoever installs it can read all the current local news of their own home area even if it's a small rural town unknown to most people.Most news apps are of major cities. I'll delete app if it doesn't improve.

Instead of looking for news about Exeter and Devon in the feeds of my local newspapers and TV / radio stations, I've found the 'Local News' app. Every story has some relevance to me. They bring together stories from all my local outlets. If there's a problem on the roads, for example, I'll find the answers fastest in 'Local News'. Much faster than searching Google or Twitter. It doesn't pretend to be what it isn't. And what it does, it does brilliantly.

Not the best as most items are from the P&J and you need to sign up to them to receive. Not ideal as local news should be available to everyone to open without pass words etc.

My experience when I have wanted to know about things has been local news. I have found out about things that I didn't know that happened, but I Also know of news that local news didn't cover. That is why I only gave it a 4 star rating.

I've been looking for something like this for ages. Local news (configurable to include different areas) and nicely laid out.

It seems to have been improved, I recently installed it, and it actually had news articles to read. Overall, it's the best app for localized news, and you can choose the various mile ranges you want to read news about, from your area. It uses alot of MB, but most news apps do.
