A bit invasive of my privacy. After latest update my location had to be turned on at home, not just only at the recycling station. I get the fraud prevention angle. But there is no mention of this under the section about the kinds of data this app may collect and share. The location collection could easily be avoided with "Fake GPS" or similar app but the behavior is not acceptable for me. I abandoned my collected points and uninstalled. Idea is nice though and I will follow this app.

Recently discovered and downloaded the Bower app, thought it was a great idea overall until the time when I wanted to redeem and wanted my bank account. I really don't feel comfortable disclosing my bank account information if I had one. I hope you think about putting PayPal or gift cards as options for payment, otherwise I would have to uninstall it unfortunately., and that would be disappointing, because I like the app.

Like many others, loved this and had hundreds of coins I was saving up. I enjoyed watched the coins build up every time I scanned. Since the update, all motivation has gone. No longer worth the effort to scan before recycling. Might have felt differently if they'd not removed all my coins in the update, but they did. I'm no longer motivated to share my recycling data with them.

Been using the app for more than a year, and it was worth the effort of scanning every single package. But, as everyone else, with the last update, I've lost all my collected points. Now, most items I scan don't worth anything because the brands "are not on Bower yet" and if I want to earn points, I should contact these brands and convince them to join. What? XP system is just annoying. I bought shares in the company but now regret it. If it was a move to appease investors, it's a bad one.

I really liked the idea and that is what drew me to the app early on. Rewards have become more difficult to achieve for some time and since the update, losing all outstanding coins (and not having them transfer into the new system - even by way of XP) combined with the very low return on what is offered per scan has made it very difficult to make me want to continue to give Bower my recycling data. It's now not worth the extra time it takes to recycle to scan items. Sorry Bower. I'm now out.

Like many others I feel let down by the new system in place. I don't want 'XP points' or to pretend I'm playing a game. The app was much better and fairer how it was, and now there's less incentive to use it, no matter how you try to spin it that it's improved. Wiping coins from accounts is a poor show too. You could have at least transferred people's existing points across when you gave less than a month's notice of the changes.

Easy to scan items, and let's you take a photo of the package if product has no image. Clutter free interface, well laid out, intuitive. Suggestions: 1 Streak: What happens when you go on holiday? You can't scan and recycle from a holiday hotel without cheating. Should be able to take a break for holidays. 2 Scanner often scans item twice. Can it be fixed? 3 Some items don't have image or data. You can't add these unless invited. Should be able to take pic and add info to your items.

easy to use and scan items for recycling.. started mid September and got 1p per item. they have now changed this and you get pence for completing challenges, and xp per item. not really worth collecting xp for motivation alone. I was already recycling before and wanted some rewards for doing so. they did email to say changes were coming so can't fault them for that but still. will probably uninstall after Oct.
