My first tsmart broke after a year, the unit was replaced but the replacement unit won't connect despite completely removing the app and reinstalling. When the previous one was working it lacked a huge amount of potential features that would have made it genuinely smart. Also, the wifi range on the unit reaches less than 3m so unless you have a signal booster connected immediately adjacent it probably won't connect to your WiFi if you do manage to get the unit up and running. Do better Tesla!

Works well for me. Pretty faultless. Very streamlined app which is good. It's to heat water, it should be basic. The more you complicate things the more chance of issues. Have been using for nearly 3 years now and has been very useful. I used it to see if I need to boost my hot water before a shower. I can do this anywhere. I also use it to boost the hot water remotely if we have a lot of excess power generated from our solar panels.

after recent update it keep asking to set up a pin and fails. it won't accept any value on setup, manual seem to have 0 info on this new pin it wants. unable to manage it now. App is still garbage ... for 3 years now

Having used Tesla T-Smart immersion heaters for some time, they often fail and I've had to replace several units which is a pain....As for the APP, it is basic and was told it was going to be upgraded, but that doesn't appear to be the case ...I'm often having to force stop the APP....A wonderful concept that needs a little more work to improve reliability and functionality...

I have had 3 of these T Smart units. None of them have been able to connect to the device app, and the unit keeps rebooting. I was told that on rare occasions, the immersion just won't work. I am one of those rare occasions. I have put in-line EMI units to stop any interface, to no avail. The unit just keeps rebooting again and again. Never have I had a unit to work.

Basic, does the job. The issues I find that it crashes often - every time I leave it open in background and reopen it crashes. Also once every two weeks in winter I get error E03 that tank is empty - which it isn't, and then it stops and I need to restart the heating element. WiFi, plans, all works fine. Small issue you cannot set it to work from 23-1:00, it needs 23-23:59, 0:00-1:00.

Kind of works but crashes frequently. An irritating bug in manual mode is to turn it on to heat water up to 55C then check a bit later and find the setpoint changed from 55 to 15C so the water hasn't heated at all. If you could improve the stability then although it's basic I'd be very happy. WiFi on the device itself is pretty flaky, PLC would be a much better option than WiFi, as it is I probably need to add a wireless repeater near the tank. I can just about live with it!

Basic but functional.. I read a few of the negative reviews so to clarify. The app is a blank screen until you connect a device, the initial collection has to be direct WiFi to device to put it on home network. Once you connected, the app is no longer blank. Regarding drop outs, I've not experienced this and think that has more to do with user WiFi. I have a 2.4/5GHz mesh WiFi system (TP Link Deco M5) and I had no issues. Agree more monitoring, reporting and smart features would be nice.
