Elevate the power of the iCalendar standard to the next level, use the potential of the combination of journals (VJournal), notes (VJournal) and tasks (VTodo) out of one app and use DAVx5 to synchronize your entries with the CalDAV-server of your choice!iCal standard compliant
Using the iCal standard ensures compatibility and interoparability with other apps and services independent of a dedicated provider or infrastructure. Journals and Notes are compliant to the definition of the VJOURNAL component, Tasks are compliant to the VTODO component. Future features will also include import and export functionalities to and from .ics files :-)
Combine journals, notes & tasks
Instead of using separate apps for journals, notes & tasks you can use them out of one hand, combine and link them to each other, e.g. create meeting minutes and link your tasks to them.
Sync with DAVx5
Synchronize your entries with any compatible CalDAV server by using DAVx5. By using DAVx5 you are free to choose your preferred provider for CalDAV, you can even use your local server to store and synchronize your data.
Note: DAVx5 is an independent app and must be acquired separately.
Open Source
Your data can contain private and sensitive data by their nature. We believe that individuals and companies should be able to be in full control of their own data. This means the freedom to choose where and how the data are stored, and freedom in choice of software. That is why we chose DAVx5 as a Sync Adapter to synchronise your data between your phone and any compatible CalDAV-server. What does VJournal and VTodo mean?
VJournal and VTodo are calendar components defined in the international standard RFC-5545, the Internet Calendaring and Scheduling Core Object Specification (iCalendar), see https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc5545 . This standard also defines the VEvent component, which is the standard definition for calendar event entries. jtx Board is using the VJournal component according to this iCalendar standard for journal entries and tasks. VJournals can have a defined start date, but they cannot have a duration or an end date. VJournals with a defined start date are considered journals entries in jtx Board, VJournals without start date are interpreted as notes. The VTodo component as defined in the iCalendar standard defines the technical specification of tasks, which can have a scheduled start, due and completed date as well as a progress and a completed status (amongst others).
The VEvent definition is widely used, the VTodo component also found some implementations in Apps, but the VJournal component remained in the dark almost not being implemented at all by other apps and services. With jtx Board we would like to revive the usage of this standard and empower it with the possibilities to link and combine VTodos with VJournals - and in the future also VEvents! :-)

The app functionality is great. It works well for any essential use case. Almost my ideal. Using VJOURNAL is a fantastic idea but ends up being a double-edged sword. Pragmatically it just doesn't seem to be making headway. A fallback to other methods would make this more flexible. For longer notes, you need to manually scroll to the bottom - a minor bother but easily managed. While the interface is busy, it gets easier to ignore the extras over time.

I bought the pro version to use with my cards account. After months of use, have to say it's far from being reliable. Tasks marked as completed do appear still has "to-do" on the server. Keep getting notifications for reminders with expire date months ahead. Seems like integration with caldav Todo/Tasks is very broken. For comparison, Apple's Reminders works like a charm (and it's very much simpler to configure and use).

So far so good! The UI looks fine, developers are responsive, feature set is good. Bought the "Pro" version, and even the kanban board works surprisingly well. One nag regarding the caldav feature through davx: it tends to duplicate my tasks. That MAY be something entirely unrelated, and it IS a beta feature. No impact on review, in other words. Update: duplicate tasks was PEBKAC, no issue there.

Has to be the best task app for Android, I've tried lots and they either go too big or fall short in some way. Nice clean intuitive interface. You can link tasks, notes and journal entries in limitless combinations. Highly recommended if you're anything like me and could use some help staying organized. Well worth the small fee to support the developer.

Great app for so many purposes! I'm using the Tasks ability of the app as a shared grocery list with my partner. Also using the Journals for tracking stuff that I do in house and garden and I love the possibility to add even tasks to these Journals! Syncing it with DAVx5 and nextcloud. Would love to see a VJournals integration on the nc Web interface.

This app works really well with task synchronization (pro feature). It works as advertised and has a beautiful and functional interface. Edit: I like it even better after using it regularly for a few weeks. It's worth every penny.

This is actually a really good note taking (and Kanban support is really nice). Some improvements on UX needed: "Now" button on time picker, color palettes for color picker, subtasks re-ordering using hold and drags... A desktop app would be a killer feature.

Thanks for the update Will certainly check it out. All the best This product is quite good interms of features but the edit feature needs UI revamp Thats a tiny space to start working on edits. Popping a full screen like obsidian does gives this app a great usability feature Moving to obsidian
