Brilliant app! I use it on an Android mobile phone to remotely control both my Canon EOS 850D DSLR and Canon EOS R7 cameras. While there are many useful features such as shooting timelapse sequences with exposure bracketing, the one feature I rely most on is to adjust the focus in tiny steps remotely in manual. For astrophotography, this is much faster and more precise than operating the manual focussing ring on the lens. (Also, the developer is very responsive to issues that might occur).

Since the latest update am unable to open the app. Tried uninstalling the app then reinstalling but still not working. Prior to this the app worked perfectly. Updated to 5 stars due to app providers prompt response in fixing the app.

Once the camera connects (6d), the interface becomes incredibly slow and laggy. I do not have the same issues with DSLR controller. I even removed DSLR controller from my phone to see if that was the issue: it wasn't. I tried everything I could think of (it's not the cable), but it still doesn't work right. I'll update this review if you fix it, but as a paying customer, I'm pretty ticked at the moment. DSLR controller hasn't been updated in 3 years and it works better than this does.

I've tried many, many apps and devices for remote camera functions. None are perfect, but this is the best I've tried so far. I'm using it over Wifi with a Canon 5dmiv, and it connects and performs very well. This is a pretty deep app, so it requires some time to understand and appreciate all the functions. I use it for macro focus stacking, and it's such a help. I just purchased the paid version to gain RAW image support. Highly recommended.

Used a Google Nexus 7 tablet with a Nikon D700 - worked. Next up, try a LG 3 with two different D700 cameras. Nice interface. Now to explore real work world applications. Downside: places the camera into transfer mode and depletes camera battery in wirhib 30 minutes. Often much less. Update: I no longer use the cameras I originally used the app with so I am looking forward to testing Helicon Remote with the newer DSLR cameras. In all other aspects the app works fine.

Very good app. I've used it once so far and was impressed. I am using this app with an older Canon 5d MK2. I could not get it to work at first. Firstly I needed to use an OTG cable as mentioned on their website. My camera was not brand new so it did not come with one, so I had to purchase a solid OTG cable. Secondly, I needed to turn on the usb debugging function located within the developer options on my phone. Thirdly, I have an option that says "Reverse charge and OTG" under settings which is off by default. Once turned on, the app worked. The only thing is, I am not sure that I can record directly to the mini sd card within the phone???

Extremely disappointed. I cannot even add my camera (Nikon D750) with free version over the wifi connection. The online help feature are absolutely worthless. For connecting a camera with built in wifi unit in the online guide the ladt step is "select a camera" while I can never detect where is this option. *** thank you very much. Got it now

Could not get it to work with my Nikon D7200. Update to your question. Sorry to add - I used wifi. Enabled the D7200 wifi, connected the Android phone - Moto G6 to the D7200 and the app does not recognize the camera automatically. could not find guide to what may be wrong or why. OK - switched to my Samsung Tab 2 and tried again. It was only after I tried to add an network camera (ip of the Nikon D7200) that it would show up as a choice along with the network camera. . Once it did - it controls the camera nicely. Now to see if focus stacking works. Focus stacking works like a charm. I was using a Nikon macro 105mm with 36mm Kenko extension tube and it figured out the DOF and number of steps. Resulting images processed nicely in Affinity Photo. I upped my rating to 4 stars - just need to make the wifi connection aspect of this app a bit more intuitive and easier. I was just lucky to try the network camera route, then both showed up. Next step is using a WU-1b on my Nikon D600 with the Nikon 70-180mm zoom macro lens that I use a lot. I just ordered the wifi adapter for it. I will update then. Thanks for the quick responses and help.
