The seerah Of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in English by Imam Anwar Al Awlaki. Imam Anwar al-Awlaki was born in New Mexico USA. His parents are from Yemen where he lived for eleven years and received his early Islamic education. Imam al Awlaki has served as Imam in Colorado, California and washington DC. Currently he resides in Yemen.
The term ‘Seerah' has a linguistic meaning and that is 'path'. But seerah generally means biography of any person. So, Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) or al-Seerah al-Nabawiyyah means biography (life) of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Learning about Seerah does not mean just reading a book, it involves contemplating, pondering, reflecting, and deriving lessons from it and applying those lessons in our lives. It requires developing a spiritual relationship and a bonding with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Many people think that Seerah and Sunnah are the same, but that’s not true. Sunnah is technical and it involves only excerpts from Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) life. It consist of narrations from his life and includes what he said, did and approved of.
Seerah, on the other hand, is the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in its entirety. It includes not only his life after Prophethood, but also life before Prophethood. In fact, some scholars also discuss the conditions in Mecca before his birth, to help us truly understand the circumstances in which he was born and the difficulties he faced later in his life, in order to fully appreciate his life.
Thus, let us all take an initiative and make a sincere attempt to learn about the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Let us not just limit ourselves to Sunnah for interacting with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’s life, but also take a closer look at the Seerah. Seerah, Sunnah and Hadith should go side by side. We cannot comprehend one without the other two.
Allah (SWT) tells us in the Quran that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the best role model to follow. So, to follow in his footsteps, we need to learn more about his life. In Surah al-Ahzab, The Quran 33:21, Allah (SWT) says: “There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and (who) remembers Allah often.”
The life of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) is the history of Islam. If we want to learn to learn about Anbiya (prophets) we go to the Quran but if we want to learn about the life of prophet muhammad (s.a.w) we go to the seerah.
We must study the seerah to develop a proper love of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in our hearts. Loving Muhammad (s.a.w) is Ibadah. We don't truly becomes believers until we love rasulullah more than we love ourselves.
The Ummah today love rasulullah (s.a.w). If you asked any Muslim do you love prophet Muhammad (pbuh) they will say yes. But the love can not be very deep and sincere unless you know the person. If you have shallow information about someone you can't really love them. To love a person you need to know them more and this is especially true for prophet muhammad (pbuh) because the more you know him the more you will be impressed with his personality, the more you will love him.
So even though muhammad (s.a.w) among the Ummah today with the shallow information that the masses of the Muslims have about him even though they still love him but we can not truly have deep love to Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam unless we know him.

Alhamdulillah, this app is great! It's convenient to learn through audio, allowing multitasking. However, I'd like to see a pause feature that resumes from where I left off, as restarting from scratch can be confusing and repeating.

The app is very helpful and gives a great amount if knowledge of the Prophet (PBUH) but it recently stopped working. It will begin one of the lectures and just stop. And I have to restart it then it stops again.

Really good app. Gives a detailed story of our beloved prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).. but the problem about is not able to download it. You can either chose to make it offline or online but add download for those who want to download and enjoy it offline too benefits from it. Really Great app.

Awesome. Well done. I have listened to the seerah once and there is alot to take from the lessons by Iman Anwar Awlaki (rahima hamulah). I am listening to it again.IA the only down thing about the app is that the buffering takes time and it is very difficult to go bach and forth if you have missed anything.
