When moving a file from the PC to the phone using SMB, transfer speed is aprox. 2MB/s. But when moving a file from the phone to the PC, the upstream is capped at 500KB/s give or take. (I recently have to move the contents out of my SD card, and that is what I discovered. I ended up using another file explorer which gives me a speed of around 2MB/s. Just FYI)

I used "file manager +" prior to this but for some reason it was pulled from playstore last month. Went to find the alternative and someone stated this app is from the same developer. I'm not sure but it does offer the same features which is Awesome! Able to have range selection on files; selected app to open file; SMB network access; pinned path; and no other bloated, useless features I don't need, Clean interface, etc. Really nothing to nitpick.

Showing the sorted list of 5 star ratings at the start is the first step to lure users into using the cleaning functions in the deadly app. Then while the app is cleaning unwanted files, it secretly removes and deletes desired and wanted files, making me uninstall it very shory but I noticed that it attempted to delete image files that it felt the user had affiliation for. Those files could no longer be found on the device or in the recycle bin. Beware!

Have been using this app evwr since I had set up a sharing folder. Great. Stable. Easy to use. Simple interface. Kudos to the app developers for keeping up with this app, with no apps whatsoever! Maybe. Just maybe, add on an optional premium feature to allow customizable start page. Or even, a summary page of pictures and videos in a particular user selectable folder to display as thumbnails that they can select and view the files. It would be a great gallery app replacement!

Update 2024: It is great also to manage storage, clean up space, annalize disk usage, and perform several other tasks on your files. Better than Google drive to move files. Zero errors! After using it for years, I can say that it's the most effective way to work with files and folders on android. It has even the location history, so you can drop a file in the same folder of the previous seamlessly.

Best mobile file manager I've used so far. "Compress" feature helps me with large data transfers to PC (GBs and thousands of files into a convenient single file), which maximizes copying speed, while preventing interruptions & data corruption etc. And no ads so far. If there's a Pro version I'll pay for that as a thanks!

I was looking for a file manager one day and this one just appeared out of the blue and it was perfect. It is clean and has all I need. I would just wish for integrated dark mode. Android does have automatic dark mode, but it doesn't look so good. Nevertheless, it doesn't bother me that much and I enjoy using the file manager

I have been using ES Explorer since ages and have tried CX Explorer - & it is good. However, basics need to be improved. For eg. I would like to activate ACCESS FROM PC mode and then be able to use the app but the mode gets deactivated is you move back from that page - So basically you can't use the app after activating remote access via FTP. Please learn from ES Explorer - No harm in learning from the best... 4 years after this feedback today - it's still the same 🫣
