Do you like to walk outdoors for exercise? If so, this powerful GPS fitness app is for you!Made to the highest standards, Walking Odometer Pro is a GPS fitness app for walking and hiking designed for outdoor use. Take it for a walk or run and it will accurately record your route, distance traveled, calories burned, weight lost, elevation changes, and more.
Unlike a step pedometer, Walking Odometer Pro leverages the power of GPS, and by doing so, is able to provide more accurate measurements for distance walked and calories burned than can be achieved with a simple step counting pedometer.
Set long term or short term goals for yourself to motivate you to walk or run to a better fitness level. Choose a calorie goal, distance goal or decide how many pounds or kilograms of fat you would like to lose, then view your progress during and after your exercises.
The application allows you to sort and view your accomplishments by day, month, week or year. Or, view speed, altitude and distance profiles for any given recording.
The app is easy to use. Simply press the start button, close the app and begin your activity.
The application's odometer is internally calibrated so there is no need for you to go through a lengthy trial-and-error calibration method.
If you need to interrupt your walk, you can pause an activity and resume it at a later point in time. Pauses and resumes are reflected on the trail map which will clearly show split distances and other stats.
There is a one-of-a-kind odometer on the first screen that shows your distance. The meter was modeled after the rolling drum odometers seen in old cars and functions the same way -- the display actually rolls in real time as you walk / run.
The route maps include navigation features that will allow you retrace your footsteps if you happen to get lost while walking in new and unfamiliar areas.
Other features include:
👣 Link your walks to Google Earth with a single tap.
👣 Voice messages will be called out to you indicating your distance every 1/4 km or 1/4 mile and at every 10 minute mark.
👣 Lock-protected activity control panel prevents accidental termination of a recording.
👣 Secure your data by backing it up regularly. Our backup and restore utility does not require any purchase or account activation. Backup / Export your accomplishments as kml, gpx and csv files. View exported data in Google Earth and other kml/gpx ready apps such as GPS Waypoints Navigator. CSV files can be viewed in spreadsheet format by Google Docs, Open Office Calc, MS Excel.
👣 All your data can be imported back into the app from your exported kml and gpx files should you need to replace your device.
👣 No special accounts are required and there are no subscription fees. Download and start using the app immediately.
👣 Analog and digital odometers for running or walking.
👣 Calorie counter, chronometer and stop watch.
👣 Heading and altimeter readings with max / min altitude.

I wanted an app to track distance run, not a pedometer like most apps related to running are. I'd have been happy simply with an accurate tally of traveled miles (app can use metric units if you prefer), but this app also tallies other details: average speed, calories burned, change in elevation, etc, & can generate graph/map from them. This non-premium version plays an ad when you turn on/off, but it can be skipped after 5 sec and ads never pop up at random times. Overall, great product.

Easy to use, gives mileage not to many problems with the ads . Still working ,my previous map my walk stopped after a short while . 06/25 Have lowered my mark as the new ads can be a bit of a pain . I realise it's free but it's never good when you go to edit your walk and a long winded ad pops up.

Great app. Measures time, distance and pace. Set time, distance, speed goals. Graphs of all measurements. Able to set a route or just record as you walk. Very impressive. Free for everything mentioned above so far. Did a 40 kms walk today. Unable to set subset routes: ie keep overall data for entire walk while simultaneously recording measurements for 10 kms sections to compare first 10 km with final 10. Also my cell battery expired at 39 kms and I lost all data. That was a bummer.

Like this app a lot due to its accuracy. It is able to track you distance to the hundredths decimal place. In addition, it provides estimated calories burned based on your age, how long you walked, & the distance traveled. Furthermore, it has a running record of date, time, distance, & place, of your exercise that can be printed out in PDF. The only problem I have encountered is the audio has not reported periodic progress during ecersice sessions even when the box is checked to report audio

I've tried a few of these walking apps, and found Walking Odometer Pro to be best suited to my needs. The option to have the app notify one at 1/4 mile, and 10 minute intervals, is very useful in keeping track during a walk's progress. I suggested to the app's developer that having overall mph/hr, and min/mile information at the end of walk would be very helpful. That information is now included in the summary activity display for each walk. I would recommend spending the $2.49 upgrade to eliminate the ads, and also help support the developer.

Just what I needed for walking, also works for bicycling. Works with phone in pocket. Distance measured agrees with the same route I plot on Google Maps. Two features I want: 1. Automatically pause timer and measurements when not moving, like when waiting at a traffic light to cross a street. I want to measure my walking time, not standing time. Automatically resume when moving. 2. Show max and avg speed in stats. EDIT: worked on bullet trains in Japan! 160 mph!

Love it! Love that it keeps a daily log so you can look back. It does your Time, Distance, pace, speed, calories burnt. I especially like the voice feature that calls out your distance and time every 10 minutes, which I rely on as I listen to podcasts while doing my daily intermittent walk/jog which is 3 miles as of now, so the voice calling out my total distance every 10 minutes I know exactly when i've done 3 miles. I also went ad free forever and it was only 2 or 3 dollars. AMAZING APP!!

Great app! Have used it for a few years for fitness. No problems encountered. Also used it to help a member of my family to recover their health by following 'NHS guide to physical activity and walking after cardiac event.' I have found it quite accurate. Shows PACE - how many minutes to walk a mile; average walking speed in mph; elevations walked - lowest to highest; total distance walked, ability to temporarily halt recordings to view surroundings and have refreshments.
