Due to Google’s requirement of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Site Survey in recent updates to Android, Location Services are required to be enabled when you turn on either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth in the operating system. Therefore, starting from Android 6, permission to access your phone's location is necessary for the app to set up your device. For further details, please refer to the following:

It is very difficult to setup. There is no button to remove an old device so you need to clear the cache of the app and restart from scratch when there is a problem. When trying to make a bridge or extend the signal of another router you are on your own, the information from D-Link is pretty much inexistant and the options are not described well in the app.

Pretty dang easy. Just set up 2 D-Link wireless routers as part of my home network. I spent a few days running CAT6 through my older home, so they are hardwired. I fully plugged in the first, then followed the app, worked fine! The second I followed the apps instructions 💯, no real difference. I did it all off my phone (which makes sense since I'm rating a phone app), including setting up "admin access". Recommend 100%.

As an IT consultant, this app is infuriating. It tries to protect you from yourself far too much. Disconnect myself from cell phone carrier's data so it can find a device on the Local network? Makes sense.. I couldn't complete basic setup to turn off routing functionality without plugging in the ethernet cable first "to the internet", forcing me to connect it as a full blown router to a live network environment.

The installation does not tell you to turn off your mobile data to start install. Instead when you are almost done (10 minutes later), it tells you it cannot install unless you turn off your mobile data. Then it starts the installation all over again!! Install has several other restart glitches like powering on and off each device until you get the sequence EXACTLY right, then it works. Then when you do an update, it does it all over again! This should all be in the background seamless installed

D-Link's App is FAR behubd their competitors (Netgear, Tp-Link and Linksys)!!! They're the only app that cannot remotely manage the router! Instead you need to use a web browser and on mobile that looks and works horribly! Also their parental controls are buggy and very limited in features. Too bad because otherwise the actual router is fairly stable and easy to set up. The app itself needs a complete overhaul though.

I think this app could get better. The parental settings arent very clear. And once you set a schedule your phone will no longer pull up the app. I can see my family devices and when I try to control or rename them they duplicate in my list. Or they all come up as unknown. Pretty difficult to distinguish 11 devices when they all are unknown!! The router itself is good and doing its job. It's this app that needs some work

Main issue, when you first launch this app to configure your new hardware the app brings up a message to disable your mobile data network. Airplane mode does not fix this error and the only way I found to get around the issue is to eject the phone SIM. Once the SIM was removed the application worked as per the instructions and the rest of the setup was very well communicated in the app. Why is turning off the mobile data a requirement for configuring a router? This was very frustrating.

This application did not recognize my brand new router. It also did not recognize my extender. Once I set up the router manually it did recognize it but it didn't recognize the extender. Also, any changes or attempts to make changes will result in the router disconnecting from the internet and then taking another minute to reboot. Very frustrating!
