Designed for writers of film, TV, and online scripted projects, DubScript is an industry-strength, open-standard screenplay editor with pro features.

Read Final Draft (.fdx) or Fountain script formats and edit in plain-text. Then output your auto-formatted screenplay to print, PDF, and .fdx. Also edit plain text Markdown markup files (ending in .md).

Plain-text in. Screenplay out.

Create a new script and write naturally in the free-flowing plain-text editor -- without the "screenplay software formatting stuff" getting in your way. Don't break your writing flow to manually format or indent characters, slug lines, parentheticals, or action. Write uninterrupted-- scenes start with INT. or EXT, capitalize CHARACTER names, double-space between dialog.

In other words, make your screenplay look "screenplayish". The editor (900+ fonts available) helps with auto-suggestions as you go.

Save direct to your device's storage- no online connection required. Or save to Drive and other cloud services.

Finished? With a single swipe, DubScript does the hard formatting for you! Indentation, page breaks, CONT'Ds, page numbering, margins, and text styling appear like magic!

Now you have a proper screenplay. But before you output a PDF or export to .fdx, add a quick title page. It's just as easy to add scene numbers, side-by-side dialogue, centered text, notes, and page breaks.

"Open" is good. Vendor "lock in" isn't.

DubScript supports Fountain markup, a popular, open standard for writing scripts in plain-text. This means your screenplay file is fully-compatible with any old plain-text editor. To exchange with other apps, just copy and paste. Or hit the Share button to forward yourself (or your agent) a quick off-device backup via an email or messaging app.

Really helpful app. Few additions I would recommend to the devs. * Add page breaks * to easily add scene names and camera notes * Make it easier to create dialogue. So that it can auto detect its attempt when a character name is typed out. * A section where you can easily type out ideas or notes to be used later. But all in all, a very helpful tool.

I initially had an issue where the reading pane and PDF export would not format and created a blank page, but as with most things it was user error: if reading pane is showing you a blank green square, try making sure that you are double spacing your paragraph breaks. I did 3 pages of action lines and the format would not work without having at least 1 paragraph break. I love the markdown process for phone. 10/10 experience thus far.

I would give it five stars but for some reason whenever I try to go back and write something on a higher page, the page automatically goes back to the very bottom, it gets a little annoying. It may be the phone I'm using, as I am on a new device and it may not be optimized for it maybe? And also when I check the character dialogs, the screen is black and I can't see anything.

Great app, does exactly what I need it to do. Formats for me just like Highland 2 and exports PDFs. Writing on my phone feels so much more relaxing than writing on my laptop. Absolutely worth paying to remove the ads.

This app is really great for every writer out there, whether a first time writer or pro. It also saves time by formatting the script for me. Thanks for the wellness exam feature, because everytime I learn new things.

I love the app, it's super easy to use. It was really natural writing everything, but please make the ads smaller. They completely block the screen and I can't even see what I'm writing. Other than that it's fine.

Excellent, easy to use for a first-time writer or a pro. Love the convenience settings such as automatically making my scene headings bold. Highly recommended. Saves so much time by formatting for you. Also, got a quick response on a question I had to display the author name. The solution was to use "Author: Name" on the second line (right below the title line) No commas needed.

The ads are non-intrusive, which is great, and overall I really enjoy writing scripts in markdown because it makes formatting on a phone super easy. So far I've only used it to write a short, but I worry about longer scripts because there's no scene outline to easily jump through the script. You can add scene numbers, but it's not useful if you're viewing the script in Read mode.
