Forced to get a smart meter. Signal in area not strong enough to give accurate readings (and I live in the city). Always been like this but the engineer wouldn't listen. Surprise surprise, it doesn't work. Occasionally gets a signal to send a reading but 90% of the time it doesn't work. When I try do do a manual reading it won't let me on the app cuz it's conflicting with the smart meter - typical case of Computer Says No. Technology for technology's sake! And I'm a millennial!

since the app has been updated it no longer shows you real time credit, sometimes it takes a day or more to show you the actual credit on your meter, which is no good if you are not at home for a few days and want to keep an eye on your credit. Also when you top up you used to get the long code immediately and now it comes in an email which can take a while to get through. Not liking the updated app from the previous one.

The EDF app isn't very user-friendly. Their updates prevent passwords from working, so you have to reset it each time.. You can't set up a Direct Debit, or change from the deemed tariff. You can fill in all the required information, after which, it tells you that it has been unable to complete the request and to try again later. It won't save details to make manual payments simpler. The only thing that does seem to work well in the meter reading input.

It rarely works properly and recently they updated and now I can't use my finger print and it is not excepting my password, have tried changing passwords and they keep telling me that they have sent me an email but I am not receiving them. And to top it all now my cards aren't working. I wish I had never changed to edf. It's been nothing but trouble.
Fractals
Useless as a tool for monitoring balance, can be up to a day out of sync. Also if it weren't for Google pay, the recent update would have taken the payments from almost instant (saved credentials) to having to enter all bank details manually per payment. a complete step backwards. Gets 2 stars only because it prevents users having to physically go to the shop to top up. Would be better to remove most of the broken features than trying to maintain them, just to save UI space.

* Update - A couple of weeks after emailing EDF, I can now submit meter readings via the app again. Rating increased * Current version has a bug that won't let you submit readings once it displays a message stating that you appear to have used less electricity than usual. When it does that the 'Confirm meter reading' button doesn't do anything and I have to use the website instead, which is a bit of a pain!

constantly incorrectly billing me. Getting day time and night-time readings mixed up? and not recognising the mistakes instead billing me for hundreds of pounds untill I point out the errors!! finally had enough and switched supplier. Not before its caused me extreme distress and effected my mental health. Glad to see the back of them.

Signed up for new EV tariff (as old one expired) 5 weeks later still waiting for it to be applied. usually it happens in days but not this time. I would change to get it cheaper elsewhere but guess what either they don't except my car (vauxhall) or else they don't except my Pod Point charger or both.
