Tone Generator helps you build & play custom sound waves. This app lets you create sounds from low frequency all the way to high frequency.

A tone generator (also known as signal generator, noise generator, or frequency generator) lets you create a tone of varying frequency & waveform on demand.

The Signal Generator supports the following wave types:
🔊 sine wave
🔊 square wave
🔊 sawtooth wave
🔊 triangle wave

This app has the ability to generate noise from 1 hZ all the way up to 20,000 hertz.

Note: some humans may not be able to hear high frequency tones played by the sound generator. The sine wave function at high pitch functions similar to a dog whistle

How to use Tone Generator:
1. Slide the bar up & down to your desired frequency
2. Select one of the four wave generators (sine, square, sawtooth, triangle).
3. Tap the wave generator again to stop playing the sound.

The plus and minus buttons this developer installed on request a couple years ago has been incredibly helpful over the past couple of years. It's incredible the accuracy that has come about. I use it to tune environmental noise, and this feature has made it possible to appreciate beat frequencies that both occur and modulate as the result of natural noise. I mean I'm so thankful he put this in. I just wanted to say thanks again for years of helpful function.

(Please don't add ads.) 5 stars for function & UI. Can you please add the ability to set a ranged sweep? Example, I specify any HZ range, select low to high & it sweeps in a specified time range. A DB setting -12 to flat. Also a pink noise generator. With those 3 additions, this'd literally be the most PERFECT audio testing app that I've ever used. In the meantime, this is extraordinarily helpful. Love being able to save the tones and use the keypad and can have screen off while tone runs! Thx!

This app is perfect for my needs. Thanks! I think you could solve many of the UI complaints about the slider by changing to a logarithmic scale. This would make lower frequencies much easier to access. And folks could still type in the number if they need tight control over very high frequencies.

The app is so good at the described functions. The user interface is also very easy. Just wonder if the pro version could make it run in the background, cause this free version shuts off with the phone screen, and thus will consume more power. For the rest is excellent!

The app is very simple and minimal with a pleasing UI, however it is hard to reach lower frequencies as they are right at the border of the screen. You can type in specific frequencies. So I love it!

Doesnt have decimal input. Tried to use it as an "exact" tuner for adjusting the intonation on my guitar, but I cant put a "." to input the exact centage of the note. This is another "toy" app to piss off people.
