The WifiRttLocator app can estimate a smartphone’s position to an accuracy of 1-2 meters. It requires the use of a Wi-Fi Access Point infrastructure that supports the IEEE 802.11mc protocol. At present this is not very common, but we expect it will be in the future. Google WiFi already supports this protocol, and can be used in combination with the WifiRttLocator, and is especially useful indoors where GPS is not available.Demo video: https://g.co/wifirtt/locator-demo
The application is designed as a demonstration and testing tool for developers, vendors, and universities, and can be used to validate the effectiveness of the Android Wi-Fi RTT API for positioning, navigation and retail applications. WifiRttLocator requires knowledge of the Access Point locations and operating parameters, which are read through a configuration file (.csv), and a floor plan file (.png). A full description of the application and the associated configuration file is provided in the user guide.

Terrific! Takes a moment to set up correctly, but we'll worth it (note that the floorplan file name must match the floorplan file name specified in the configuration file exactly). Great demonstration of indoor localization using WiFi access points!

How can I determine latitude and longitude in a building? I read the setup guide, but I don't know if the method could work well. It'd be easier to enter AP coordinates.

Not able to load the example config file in the application. It shows the config file is not valid. How to check what is the error or which config file is supported.

Can't upload .csv file. I have downloaded a .csv file from the official documentation but the file is greyed out for some reason. It's like the app doesn't actually expect a .csv file. Now I can't try the app so please fix this.

Maybe if you explain what the .csv file needs to look like and why it's needed or provide one as a default for the user to edit, this app might be worthy of its space.

Why does this app need access to my photos and media?
