This is a decent app, but I wish there was a way to edit the recording while it is being recorded. I often dictate reports and it would be nice to be able to scroll back through the recording and make edits and to listen to the recording before saving it. Once it's saved, it doesn't appear as though it can be modified. The Samsung recorder app is better because it allows you to edit the app before saving it and to scroll back and forth through the recording to make necessary changes.

In-CREDIBLE. INCREDIBLE. This is so advanced as a voice recorder. This is NOT a simple voice recorder app. Well, it is but it isn't. It's super easy to start the app and then one-tap start a recording, but when you're done, you can go back, look at the recording, and there's a transcript of it, formatted into PARAGRAPHS. It takes your recording and makes it NAVIGABLE. incredible.

Excellent at recording, but a bunch of software locks for stuff it should be able to do, namely, can't do any imports take advantage of its incredible capabilities. Current bug: Location for your recordings are saved, and you have the "suggestion" to search by location at the search bar. Problem is, it actually just looks for the "name of the actual location", which doesn't pop up. Should be a trivial fix if any of you want to get around to it.

I recorded a very important thing that I needed, and the next time I checked it the recording had no sound. It showed me the sound and singing on the bottom bar, but it was just empty at the top and wouldn't play anything. I tried recording other things, and they all worked fine. I tried restarting the app, restarting my phone, but this recording is still just silent. I need it but I can't listen to it. This app has recently started doing things like this. I'm sick of it. Terrible app.

I used this recently to see if I could get a recording of a work meeting to share with someone who couldn't make it. It works ok, but until I set my screen timeout to keep the screen awake, it kept stopping. If there's a way to not have it stop recording when the screen goes to sleep, I didn't find it. Transcript: A speaker who paused was commonly misidentified as a new speaker, and some text by people with accents was just gibberish.

I plead, have a 1.25x speed option. Google Drive has that option when playing MP3 files so it would only make sense for the Google Recorder app to offer the same. Also, have an option to save these files as MP3 files. Lastly, have an option to merge 2 audio files. I fear that using the pause may dysfunction during battery saving mode. It's just easier to start a new recording sometimes.

Wild. Do not use this app if you care about privacy. Unless your phone is rooted, you cannot copy the m4a files off the device locally. Instead, you get to upload those files to a cloud service to have the privilege of retrieving your own data. Why can I access everything else via USB but not recordings? Why is there a dark pattern baked into the app to force you to upload personal data to Google Drive? Extremely disappointing, Google. You know exactly what you're doing.

I accidentally deleted a file and cannot find any way to recover it. Other android phones have a "trash" folder on the recorder app, but not this one. On other android phones, your recordings exist both in the recorder app and in the storage/files app. Not on this one! Here your recordings are stored in the recorder app alone. The app also allows you to back up your recordings to Google drive, which I do, yet I cannot find any of my recordings on Google drive. Do not recommend.
