It's easily the most useful app that you can get. It employs triple pass encryption to securely store your passwords. You can be very specific when generating passwords. You have the option to drag and drop or copy and paste values onto a web page, and you can opt to open multiple safes in either read-only or writeable modes. Best of all, it is free, open source software, so in the highly unlikely event that you don't like it, you can uninstall and you won't have wasted your money.

Password Safe is a secure and portable way to handle your passwords. I say "portable" thanks to this Android app! There may be more convenient options which build into your web browser, but they carry risk. I use this handy app for retrieval of my passwords but I manage my passwords on Windows Password Safe. Between this and the desktop application, you have the best of both worlds to be honest. And it's all free, which is really mind boggling. Kudos on the fingerprint login! 👍🏼

I've used Passwordsafe desktop and mobile versions for many years. I like that its encrypted database is not shared online, while I can share it to myself in a way that is SECURE and convenient. It's old school in its interface...very straightforward. Many thanks to the developer Jeff Harris for explaining how to use fingerprint logon!

This is simply the second-best password manager there is because of the integrated Android keyboard feature which means nothing goes to the clipboard. Just remember if you shut off background apps, it won't work when you swap because the app closes and safe locks. Works across multiple systems, encrypts the database, has advanced security methods, many features, excellent on mobile, and even more so on PC!

After the response from the dev, I can edit files from my phone again. So back to a 5 star review! :-) I have used this app for a long time. It has been a life saver but now, as others have said, it only has an open option which means read-only viewing. There is no toggle option in the top left menu. What am I missing? (I'm syncing with Dropbox)

update on rating I've given this back a 5 star rating. I guess there was a change in the app whereby the default opening function when hitting return after password entry changed from open with full editing to a read only open. Now you have to select "modify" after entering your password. It then gives you the ability to add entries instead of just reading or deleting. I wish that were a bit more clear. I thought the modify icon referred to changing the password.

I've used password safe since it's early version 3.xx more than two decades ago. The version I'm currently using now is 6.22 and I have successfully use this cross platform from several different versions of Windows to Android OS versions 6 through current. It's simple, elegant, and easy to use and relatively easy to change/update passwords and existing entries as well as organize the entries into different credential account categories such as financial, streaming accounts, personal, etc.
