This is the only app I've found where you can customize your calories on a daily basis. It doesn't force you to maintain a certain calorie intake but rather allows you (the user) to be in charge of your daily intake as a well-informed participant. What a concept! I hate that all apps on the market "tell" me what i should be consuming. That's hogwash! I'm more than capable to make that determination based on the caloric system i choose to adhere to. More apps should allow this flexibility!

2024 update: Macro app options have changed a lot since 2015, and Joy costs more now too. I paid for a year to support the dev since it's still great, but would suggest people also look at (free and paid tiers of) Cronometer, Carb Manager, and Macrosfirst. 2015: Much better than MFP for tracking macros! You can cycle carbs too! Yes, the database is smaller than MFP, but entry accuracy MUCH better than MFP. You can give your recipes a total weight in grams too so you can weigh out portions!

Just a trendy wannabe of my fitness pal. Search needs work. Typing 2% milk pulls up random items instead of 2% milk. Text is too small and light, very hard to read and I am young. It's like some devs slapped together a bunch of trendy UI components but on each page everything is just floating at the top. It feels so incomplete. Why to I have to reach all the way to the top of my phone to login? Not a joy to use. RIP accessibility.

Been about a year since I've used it and now they're more expensive. Still somewhat of a decent app, but these days I find some developers are asking WAY too much for what's put out. No offense, Devs. I was one of the few who initially used this app, as well. Now that inflation is a B, I have to prioritize my funding and in a macro app isn't that important. Since one reviewer mentioned other apps, I'll be checking those out.

Love the app. Sometimes the barco barcode scanner doesn't work. But pretty large database.
