Dear Maxspect Support Team, I hope this email finds you well. I am experiencing an issue with the app for my Maxspect 165 Blue Reef Light. Each time I attempt to use the app, it displays the error message: "SDK is not started yet." This has rendered the app non-functional, and I am unable to control or manage my light as intended. I kindly request your urgent assistance to resolve this matter. Please provide detailed instructions or a solution at the earliest convenience.

while it works on one android device, it does not work on two andriod devices. I tried to connect with the one cloud gyre on my tank from the tablet and my cellphone. I can controll from the tablet. but not the cellphone. There should be a windows access port to the cloud controll.

The app is fairly easy to use, but because I use a mesh network for wifi, it cannot connect to it. Luckily I have another network provider that does 2.4Ghz and it can connect to that one. I have no problems connecting AI, Jebao, and Ecotech products on my mesh wifi networks, so this app shouldn't either. It's a big letdown.

Updated review: Setup was a pain as it is very picky with WiFi. Only works on 2.4 but, unlike my smart plugs (also 2.4 only) it won't work on combined 2.4/5.0 networks. To connect I had to split my WiFi in two, one 2.4 and the other 5.0 (single 2.4/5.0 is default for most routers). Wouldn't work in AP Mode at all. It finds the light, but hangs when I try to get to the settings. Once the app is working, setting up a lighting schedule is reasonably straightforward but could be simpler.

Ok. Rough start. This is the revised edition. Got it working. Steps that may possibly help you. Had to seperate 2.4 and 5.0 on the router. Didn't work. Even as seperate networks. Mildly frustrated I then , at the same time, turned off 5.0 and reset not only the router setting on the device but also the personal settings(red and green). Worked. Seems to be still working with 5.0 turned back on. My thought, after reading that the device "bonds?" to the user. May have bonded prior to another.....

Can't connect the lights to the app regardless of what I do. Seem to be good lights but I'm limited to their output now. Deserves no stars but have to give one. Customer services support doesn't even have a phone number that is recognised 😡 UPDATE Unable to change mobile to 2.4hz frequency, ended up going into router settings and disabling 5hz frequency and then went through whole delete and set up process again which worked. Hope the router is OK with no 5hz WiFi frequency. Updated to 3 stars

Worst app have ever come across. Spent hours trying to conect my jump led lights to my android phone via the bt router, eventually got the connected only for them to not be recognised the next time I loged in, will now try to set them up on the AP mode. I will never buy a another Maxspect product that needs to be connected to this app, I will not be recommending these to anybody which is a shame as there in nothing wrong with the actual lights.
