''Kafka's Metamorphosis' is an emotional short-form story game based on the life of Czech writer Franz Kafka and his most famous novella, 'The Metamorphosis'. The game is set in the fall of 1912 when Kafka wrote The Metamorphosis. It captures Kafka's struggle to live as a writer while being pressured to fulfill roles as a young man, employee, and eldest son. The game aims to explore and express why Kafka wrote The Metamorphosis.
The game is inspired by the literary world and life of Franz Kafka, as well as his various works. Among them, The Metamorphosis and The Judgment are the most representative, both closely related to Kafka’s lifelong difficulties with his father. The Metamorphosis, in particular, resonates with people worldwide as it depicts the struggles of an eldest son who transforms into a vermin. In Kafka's Metamorphosis, the novella serves as the central motif, focusing on Kafka and Gregor Samsa’s familial issues. The key difference is that Kafka's story emphasizes the conflict between his identity as a writer and his father's expectations.
The feeling of being insignificant or treated as such under pressure is something not only we face today but also what Kafka and countless others experienced in 1912. Discover how Kafka, both as a human and as a writer, made his choices and wrote his stories in Kafka's Metamorphosis.
This game offers a lyrical and melancholic experience with simple touch controls and a fast-paced, short-form narrative, much like a short film. Players will explore Franz Kafka’s daily life and inner world, experiencing a range of emotions and stories. Reading Kafka’s works encountered in the game afterward will provide a fresh and engaging experience. As a hint, beyond The Metamorphosis and The Judgment, the game draws on Kafka’s novels like 'The Castle' and 'The Trial', as well as his diaries and letters.
Following Kafka's Metamorphosis, MazM is preparing a story reinterpreting Edgar Allan Poe’s classic tales 'The Black Cat' and 'The Fall of the House of Usher'. This will be MazM's first foray into the horror/occult genre, so please look forward to it.

I'm disappointed. I really like all of MAZM's literature games, but I didn't even get to really play this one. In order to play the chapters of Act 2, you have to watch FOUR ADS to even open them. If it was one ad, I wouldn't have a problem, but 4 is ridiculous. There's a FIVE minute timer before you can watch the next one. I'd rather have ads interrupt my gameplay instead. It's basically become a pay to play game, which is sad because the family trauma shown is something I myself relate to.

The game and graphics itself are very great! But there is one thing that doesn't satisfy me is that there is no save button for in between the chapter. I have tried picking it from where I left off and still the chapter starts from the beginning, I hope there is a save button for that. Otherwise all in all, great comprehensive gamplay.

In terms of delivery in images and writing, it is easy to digest in my perspectiv, there are also visual effects, character expressions, character design, and supporting backsound. I can't describe how much I love this game. But, some translations may be a bit inaccurate. That's just a language problem, the rest is enough to meet my expectations . Great job MazM!

So far it's really great, the art style is amazing and the storytelling is as awesome. I really love every about it, I just wish the ads you have to watch were a bit less or at least don't make there be a 5 minute wait between all 4 ads for each single episode.

The story is great I really feel for Kafka here as someone who loves his writing and oddly relates to him. The problem is that from act 2 and on you need to watch 4 ADS to countinue for EVERY chapter. It's insane! Makes No SENSE. If it was 4 ads for act I'd be okay with it. But 4 for a chpater? Plus you gotta wait 4 minutes in between them! Virtually unplayable! It forces me to pay! I don't have the money to spend on a mobile game!

The game looks very good i played the first act and it felt good BUT from the second act i had to watch 4 ADS TO PLAY 1 EPISODE i mean 1 or 2 would have been fine but 4 ads for 1 episode? That's too much and also there are like 91 episodes and after every ad you have to wait for 5 mins to watch another ad. I am dropping it

The first Act i found interesting and after the first act you have to either watch 4 ads or pay a bit.. which is unfortunate. but overall great visuals and kept me interested.

This game doesn't leave much to the imagination, I'm really interested in the story because it follows up with what little I know about Kafka, but this teaches me much more about him and his philosophies! Just hope there's an offline mode on the way. I'd say give it a go yourself and try it out, it wouldn't disappoint you
