Tired of looking up resistor color codes? Using this app, you can get the resistance of a resistor just by taking a picture of it!

The resistor should be horizontal on the image in order for the app to find/detect it correctly!
Some colors depent highly on the device, please use the "tendency" sliders in the settings to adjust.

Sorry man, I wanted to give this tool a real good try, but I could never get it to detect the correct value on any resistor. I tried various white balance settings, brightness, etc. Nothing worked. Most of the time, the main problem is that it never detects a brown band properly. It always reads it as black. I tried different backgrounds as well, and also tried both 5% resistors (beige body) and 1% resistors (blue body). Also tried manual specifying the number of rings. I love that you tried.

Great idea. I really wanted this one to work but after trying with a number of different samples it failed to decode any of them correctly. Tried on two different devices with the same results on both. Reading some of the other reviews suggests results may improve with a higher end device but we have to work with what we have. Will be sure to revisit when I next upgrade my phone.

This resistor scanner did a great job, it can even scan multiple resistors at once with high accuracy, wish I can post screenshots in this review. For those who haven't succeed using this app try to lessen the glare on the resistors and make sure you have a good focus, no need to take a big resistor foto, just take the best focus that you can. I never write app reviews unless they are really good or really worse. And this one is a great app.

Identifies ring locations, but gets the colors wrong. I positioned the resistor as instructed. I tried black backgrounds and white. Eventually found a combination of zoom and brightness which gave a very clear picture, but I never got the same answer twice and it was never correct.

focus terrible. 0 success scan from ~ 20 attempt. Calibrating too hard. [EDIT] Yes, I have tried several settings. Macro mode focus also. The colors are not well detect. I found the calibration menu, but I felt lost between the many sliders.

I'm a total klutz when I try using the cell phone camera so my results were not great. However they were good enough for me to get a glimpse at the great potential this app has. Keep up the good work this is a good app.

detection is horrible, i would give it resitors to check, and it would pick up things that weren't resitors. in fact in my testing it failed to even dtect most resistors and when it did it was wrong. this app needs alot of work, its an undevolped alpha version at best.

Not very accurate or reliable, but a neat concept. I'll have to give it another go and update later if I am able to get it to scan more reliably, but it's faster to just use a chart if I am going to have to double check the values anyway.
