Some networks, usually WiFi, will require you to login again after short periods of inactivity.

This can be very disruptive if you are not actively using your connection, but still want to receive email or other push notifications when they arrive.

This app will periodically download a tiny file to indicate that your connection is still active.

THIS WILL NOT RECONNECT YOU TO THE NETWORK IF YOU ARE DISCONNECTED.

THIS WILL NOT HELP IF THE NETWORK TIMES YOU OUT FOR ANOTHER REASON.

Some networks have timeouts that are not based on inactivity. They could log you out at preset times, or for meeting a threshold of use. This app will not work for those cases.

Hard to say if this app actually works or not. I experience frequent drops on my network, seemingly as a result of my VPN. That hasn't ceased since installing this app. But, this app could use a UI, with some options that can be setup. One, an option to launch the app in the background at boot, and an option to set the frequency of the keepalive signal. As it stands, this app is as bare bones as it gets. At least it doesn't have ads, is free, and doesn't require any unnecessary permissions. 👍

One or two minor issues on Samsung S22 Ultra, running Android 13 and OneUI 5.0. While the app installs OK there is no UI for the app and often, when touching the icon, nothing happens. I often need to touch the icon two or three times to install the service. Also, on one installation the permissions for notifications was denied, so I saw nothing until I allowed that permission. Not something the everyday user should have to do. However, when I did get the service to load it worked well.

First off, this is a service people not an app, it has no interface just actions, that don't work. Keep alive is supposed to keep your network alive by ensuring it doesn't disconnect regardless of the status of the network. Even if it dissappears it still should be waiting for it to pop back up and keeping the SSID in the list so it doesn't have to go through looking for it again when it does reappear but this app doesn't have it either. Perhaps add an interface that shows the SSID and things?

Absolutely love it. The app just takes one click... Imran there's no homepage or anything. You just click on the app icon and it connects... And on top of all that it actually works... Best app to fix ping issue... If you are suffering from high ping, definitely us e this one.

my connection was dropping so much often and was driving me crazy. with this app, my problem is definitely solved. almost using no data and resources, working silently at the background, no complicated setup or settings. just awesome.

"Keep Alive: Not Connected" -- that's all I see. My phone is connected to the Internet via mobile connection (not WiFi). I can access website, etc. Still, the app displays the "Not Connected" notification as soon as I start it. When I click the icon again, the notification says "Connecting..." and then "Not Connected" after a second or two. Once again, I have the Internet connection, which is alive and well, but it's a mobile connection, not WiFi. Should the app (service) work with mobile Internet or is for WiFi connections only for whatever reason? As it is, I must assume that it doesn't work with a mobile Internet connection. PS. Couple more thoughts. How does it detect the Internet connection? Does it try to open a particular website? What if the website is blocked in my country? Will it detect this as "No Internet connection"? If so, it would be nice to know which website it tries to access and perhaps it should give options to specify a different website and the file to download. This would be not so difficult to implement, but would be really helpful. Also, mobile providers often cut the Internet connection at random, but if you try to open any website, the connection comes back after a few seconds. The app should take this scenario into consideration, which is to say, it should have a greater timeout before it decided that there's no connection.

Every night I listen to Fox Radio and program an app to turn off after 90 minutes so I can sleep without worries but get cut off every couple of mins. I uninstalled all similar apps and kept only this one. Since then no more cut offs..

Phone has been having trouble staying connected to any mobile network. It says "emergency calls only" and refuses to pick signal back up. Downloaded this app and started it. It said "connecting" and stopped trying after 5 seconds. Still on emergency calls only. Doesnt do what it says it does.
