Does the job but needs polish. The apps determination of when to rotate to and from landscape mode needs a lot of work. And every time you change orientation it cancels the current stream and reconnects causing when passing the phone from one person to another. Once the view has rotated landscape mode, if you start to lay the phone on its back it assumes you want it back in portrait mode. This is very unusual in that way. Also when scrolling around the timeline, it doesn't load older events.

This app works well. It is faster if you do not have to go through my qnap cloud. The amount of data is the problem. If I go through my qnap cloud and view 6 cameras it can't keep up. If I go directly through my router with static IP it can keep up. I have 4K cameras and viewing 6 uses a data stream of 6mb. That is why people are having problems. If you look at the resource monitor in QTS you can see how much your upload stream goes up when viewing various amounts of cameras on your phone. Considering the demands, the app is very good. I almost never give 5 stars so I give 4 stars but this app is very good. Remember, if you use myqnapcloud all that data has to go in and out from their server before going to the telco.

I don't get all the bad reviews. I like this app better than the related PC software (QVR Pro client). Works just the way I'd expect it to. If you find it too eager to switch orientation when you move the phone around, just temporarily disable your phone's Auto Rotate. One tap. Sheesh...

Great app, keep up the good work! :-) works well with QVR Pro installed on my TS877. Ive recently used vmobile, hikconnect and tinycam and this app is my favourite. I still use tinycam to cast to my tv. My experience with remote / external monitoring has been very positive. The playback function is leagues more user friendly than some of the alternatives ive tried.

As others have stated there is a major sensitivity issue with the landscape to portrait rotation (autorotation) that makes the app completely a joke to use on mobile when you are trying to view videos. Qnap where is your QA team? You just put an update out to add a FAQ and enhanced customer support but literally didn't address a glaring issue with the app. As another stated this app has almost seemingly been abandoned from actually being worked on from overall performance to features.

live view is not live, it sticks on a single frame. and recordings don't play back correctly, they just show a black screen more often than not. also the recording history list is not extensive, it only shows the most recent 5 with no good way to quickly view further back in the timeline.

Good but app UI becomes unresponsive and Android gives the option to wait or close app. Becomes unresponsive most quickly when doing payback rather than live view. Even live viewing causes unresponsiveness if you play around with zooming it other UI controls. Really only usable for a quick check-in to the live situation.

iOS works perfectly whereas the android version is broken on basic features. As others have said, live view isn't live, switching viewing modes is too sensitive, but the biggest issue is the lockups. Flick from one app to another, then flip back nothing works. You have to close and reopen. Not great!
