This app works great, but recently it gets stuck a lot of times when uploading to Google Drive. I have a huge amount of texts to backup, so I don't know if that's the issue, but it gets stuck a lot of times recently. I am going to try using another account like One Drive and see if that works better. I frequently have to restart my phone to get the app to finish uploading my backup, though. And it's using a lot of battery from getting hung up. I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Enabled me to transfer all message threads, including images, from a Pixel 6 to a Pixel 9. So grateful for this app. I would have lost many SMS/MMS/RCS conversations and images otherwise. The native Pixel transfer app did a good job of transferring apps/settings/data for everything but Google Messages: only some messages and nearly none of the images transferred. SMS Backup & Restore transferred everything.

Backups run fine and consistent. Regularly run into issues restoring unless it's on same device. same device restores work fine. Restoring and backing up to/from another phone (pixels) fails consistently using webdav, and the wireless method. With webdav restore many messages don't show up after restore. The wireless method fails even get started and often randomly can't connect to other phone.

Has trouble running scheduled backups on Pixel 8 Pro. I have to force stop the app and restart it to get the backup to run after it's scheduled time. Used to work fine with my older phones (,OneOlus 8 and 9). All power settings are set to allow the app to run freely. Hopefully this can be fixed. Thanks! Update: I was contacted and I implemented a few more settings changes. Scheduled backup seems to be working now. Thanks for the assistance!

I rarely post reviews good or bad. However, when I find something that is quick, easy and does exactly what it says, I can't keep it to myself. Fortunately, I haven't had top use it to restore anything. The best feature for me is being able to print part or all of any conversation - from my phone or computer! Great way to archive text conversations with clients. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this app!

I gladly paid for the pro version to support the developer for good work. Automatic scheduled (and encrypted) backups to cloud (Drive/Dropbox/etc) are a real time saver. With the increasing use of messaging over emails in the business world these days, and considering legal and billing purposes, imho it's foolish not to have a messaging backup. There's also an included phone call record backup that's welcome for the same reasons, as well as transferring these records to different phones. The only issue I had (and it wasn't with this Pro version was 1) when I first used the free version to transfer sms and mms from a broken phone to a working phone via wi-fi: Twice the ~150MB transfer failed very near the end. Then for the third try I seemed to correctly guess that the phone was timing out during the the process and maybe that's due to Android 8.1's battery saver/optimization or something similar. So on that third time I would just touch the old and new phones occasionally to make sure they stayed visibly awake. The transfer completed 100% and the counts looked correct. And 2) After that transfer there were no messages showing in Android messaging. I quick check of the FAQ had a couple suggestions. For me, all I had to do was Clear Cache and Clear Data in Android's Messages, then all the restored messages appeared in Messages as desired.

While this app is a lifesaver, a progress bar would be great. The "restoring" bar just kind of slides along in a loop, with no feedback that it's getting anything done. Otherwise, I consider this app a basic requirement for every android device. Edit: nevermind. The progress bar works properly if there wasn't a hiccup during the process.

I can tell you right now that I don't know how well this thing actually performs at backing up because at this very moment in time it doesn't matter! Having a Google Pixel, Google thinks they know best when concerning backups... they don't. The have the 1 which probably should be called the zero backup plan. I noticed when I was finished migrating from a 3 to a 7 that most of my pictures were missing. Disabled 1 backup, used this app to backup old phone and new, deleted all on new, restored!
